#nickelsilver #sink details. 3/4" radius bends on bottom and sides. You could tig weld this,but due to the zinc it welds pretty poorly. I used soft silver bearing solder and my #americanbeauty soldering iron. By the way nickel silver has no silver in it. It has a tensile strength of 108,000 psi. Aluminum hood! Headed to Chicago. 66" x 25 1/2" x 22" tall. It will end up having wooden trim at the top and bottom. Aluminum is a great alternative to zinc and pewter for for the monochromatic color scheme. It isn't as reactive as zinc and much more reasonably priced than pewter. It is lightweight allowing for thicker sections, this hood was 1/8" thick. Unlike zinc it can be annealed after being worked by hammering making it much easier to flatten out after being worked. I can cut and route it with woodworking tools and it can be tig welded. Last thing, it comes in the same sizes as steel reducing seams.
