Une minute pour une image | AgnĂšs Varda | 1983
Some of the phototographs narrated by AgnÚs Varda
Une minute pour une image was a French TV series conceived and directed by AgnÚs Varda which had 170 two minute episodes.
A photograph would be shown in silence for fifteen seconds and then an unseen narrator would speak about the photograph for one minute, their impressions, the thoughts and emotions the image invoked, before a further fifteen seconds of silence. The silences were for the viewer to initially form their own views of the image and then to consider the image in the light of the narratorâs contribution. Varda narrated some of the episodes but other narrators included Marguerite Duras, Yves Montand, and Maurice Pialat.
