Photos of Special Couple filming in Belfast today from Mal McCann [x]
Rupert’s looking very smart!
Some great pics from Chinese social media. https://m.weibo.cn/2805625461/4214738751574801
My Transcript from Rupert’s talk onstage at Sherlocked UK 2017 - This has taken me a Heck of a lot of work, so please do not re-post any of it elsewhere without asking me first - thanks & Enjoy!!
Rupert: Enters by jumping over his chair (Sherlock’s TAB chair) to sit on it
Compere: so, if you didn’t know folks, this is the Actual 221B set… and as Rupert did that entrance there was a bloke down in the sound booth going (mimes eyes wide open in horror)! (everyone laughs, oopsy). So, Good morning!
Rupert: (deep voice) Mornin’. (looks around at us) Ohh, hello… people!
Compere: so, obviously everyone here will know you as Greg Lestrade, but you’ve had a very long career on stage screen and telly, but when you started, it wasn’t quite that way, when you were at school, what made you want to become an actor?
Rupert: I was actually quite shy at school, and I had a stammer so I went to a speech therapist to help me with exams and we did a bit of acting and I did alright in those, and I thought, ohh, this seems good. I was in Weston Super Mare in a pretty lousy school, and I was terrible at school. I left when I was 15 without any O levels. So I had no real options. I did some comic monologues, touring round the West country, and I did alright in those. And then the circus came into town and they’d lost a clown Very carelessly! So I got on a bus & walked into the tent and said hello! The Government actually paid me 25quid a week on a youth training scheme, well no - they paid the circus, to train me as a clown. Drama school would have been great, but I just didn’t have any money to get a grant as I had no O levels. I was just so naive and I was just from this small West country town so I didn’t know how to do it. So I just joined the circus as my only way.
Compere: I looked up and an interview said you did slack wire - but I have no idea what that is
Rupert: It’s like the opposite of a tightrope - it’s just a really slackened wire and you need a lot more balance on it. It is really genuinely difficult. But if I fell off I was just like (mimics high pitched laughing and brushing himself off). I think, a proper clowns reaction I got across every time!
Compere: And how many times were you carried out (injured)?
Rupert: Well, you learn to fall. So I learnt to do that, and smile when I was actually in great pain. It was a very small, pretty colourful but rubbishy circus. It was called (difficult to hear, Dr Mings??) Circus. And we used to travel, we’d put our tents in odd places like old swimming pools! Which hurt, because of the concrete! (he giggles to himself)
Compere: There was another career path that you were tempted to take I was told that you wanted to do, but weren’t allowed to do - which is to become a Nun!
Rupert: Yeah! (quite proudly) I did want to become a nun… But… I was only about 6! And I didn’t realise what you actually needed to be a nun!

This is fantastic! Thank you so much for all your hard work putting it together!

Lovely clip of a slightly knackered Rupert during the PBOvsCancer charity football game on July 1st! [full video]
Also - arms!!
Steven Moffat wrote the DW series 10 finale and the 2017 Christmas special as a gift to Peter Capaldi. He did this because he love him.
And see, Steven loves Mark as well. He gave him a role the Christmas special with Peter. I mean, this is what a showrunner does for his friends. And Mark is thrilled because he loves Peter too. He said, “The last Doctor I remember working with is my Doctor.”
These middle-aged nerds who grew up with Classic Who made Doctor Who what it is today. And now, the kids who are watching their work, will be the middle-aged nerds who will make Doctor Who what it will be in the future.
Love is a thing.
Susie just shared on Twitter that Mr Graves will be wearing these shiny new football boots at the PBO vs Cancer charity football game next week! [x]
Just wonder what does JENZI mean
Fantastic news! Rupert Graves and Thomas Turgoose (from Swimming With Men) will be part of the teams taking part in a celebrity football match in aid of CLIC Sargent on July 1st at In2itive Park, in Peterborough! [x]

‘And this is for Scudder … cigarettes, I suspect.’
A bejazzling full-on-o-thon of creative jewels curated from my 18 years in this lousy business. Ah, it keeps drawing me back, so it does.
A short film, featuring actor Rupert Graves, introducing people to SABIC’s big brand idea of ‘powering ambition’.
Really hard to choose which is my most liked picture. Here are the first two that pop into my mind.
REBLOG IF YOU STILL LOVE STEVEN MOFFAT AND MARK GATISS
I will always love Mark Gatiss ❤️
Absolutely. With much gratitude to and admiration for both. And BBC Sherlock remains what I consider British TV at its finest.
I love Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Without them the amazing show that has become such an important part of my life would never have existed. I will always stand up for them against anyone who throws hate their way because they aren’t writing their show the way a bunch of over entitled so called fans want them to.

I've had it.
I was followed today by someone and the first thing I saw when I went to check their blog, was that disgusting letter one of the Pushy Jlockers decided to write up about queerbaiting on Sherlock. They are trying to get lots of signatures and then they want to send it to the BBC. I’m sorry, but I am not going to be followed by anyone who condones that. I am finding it absolutely infuriating that Steven Moffat and especially Mark Gatiss are being accused of queerbaiting. That is the most ludicrous accusation! If that letter crosses my dash or if someone follows me has it on their blog, I will block that person. I have had it with rude, pushy Jlockers.
I also think it’s very important that this fandom, all of the real fans, the Johnlocker’s, Sherlolly’s and all the other shippers and non shippers, who respect the creators of this show stick together. Whether you liked series 4 or not, the writers, actors and everyone else involved in this show poured their hearts into it. For that alone they deserve respect. If people want to unfollow me over this, feel free. Considering that I never look at my follower count, I won’t even notice.
You see, I came on Tumblr to blog about things I love. That’s Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock, ancient history, space, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, LOTR, wildlife and all sorts of odds and ends. I know a lot of people worry about getting and keeping followers, that’s seems to be a thing. But not to me. What’s important to me, is blogging what I care about. If others like it, that’s great. If they don’t, that’s fine too.
Now I hopefully won’t lose any of my lovely friends I’ve made here over this. That I would find very upsetting. Anyways, rant over.
