For me, the fact that they chose really bad voices for some of them is just a minor part of why I don’t acknowledge the Haikyuu dub. 

The truth is, I have little to none interest in dubs in the first place because for me the original voices of the characters play a fundamental role on why and how much I like a character and overall a show. 

To me, the voice IS the character and no one would ever do a better job than the original voice actor themselves.

Who would ever deliver Hinata’s feelings better than Ayumu Murase? Who would ever scream “Akaaaashi!” with the same intensity of Kimura Ryouhei? Who would sound as snarky and provocative as Yuuichi Nakamura? Who would ever be as salty as Kouki Uchiyama? Who would ever sound so broken but at the same time so full of life as Nobuhiko Okamoto?
