           her  delicate  features  twisted  as  she  instinctively  pulls  back  in  response  to  the  escalating  volume  of  his  voice,   naturally  stepping  backwards  to  create  a  visible  gap  between  them.   she  was  aware  of  his  difficulty  with  self - control,   yet  she  still  held  onto  the  hope  that  her  soft  voice  wouldn’t  provoke  him,   especially  since  she  only  politely  requested  for  him  not  to  yell  at  her  anymore.   it  seemed  like  a  rational  request  at  the  time.   “ Travis...    Please  stop.    You’re  causing  a  scene. ”    she  pleads  with  him  as  vivid  blue  eyes  become  blurred.   she  desperately  fights  to  remain  composed  to  avoid  attracting  more  attention  to  them  by  crying. 

an audience watching didn't frighten him nearly as much as falling from her good graces ; the pairs of eyes silently stabbing daggers into his back meant very little in comparison to the fear of being seen for who you really were by those who mattered most. HE'D ALMOST FORGOTTEN THAT THEY WERE EVEN THERE. the barrier she created between their bodies would begin the clearing of a thick hazy fog —— a veil being lifted and he felt his veins freeze over in worry. the paranoia of the possibility that he had scared her settling in the core of his stomach. HOW DID THAT ONE QUOTE GO ? if you're raised with an angry man in your house , there will always be an angry man in your house. he didn't want to be angry at her. and he certainly didn't want her to back away from him.

it was only as she acknowledged the crowd that he once again became acutely aware of their surroundings [ ... ] AND NOW HE WAS STUCK SOMEWHERE BETWEEN GUILT AND EGO. so the latter would decide to ride it out just a little longer. ❛❛ you think i give a fuck what these assholes think ? ❜❜ there's a quick glance around them before gaze returned towards her —— and it was true ; THIS WASN'T HIS FIRST PUBLIC MOMENT OF SHAME , and the truth was that it likely wouldn't be his last.
