as of 2022 , plague worship has released five studio albums. over the span of these albums , there has been a small handful of songs that are significantly different —— and feel almost out of place among the others that surround them. while travis isn't necessarily unknown for writing subject material that covers sensitive content such as parental neglect and abuse , depression and other mental illnesses , and former relationships that ended on bad terms —— these songs in particular are considered much more personal in tone specifically ; and they could almost be considered hate letters to those they were written for. with a much larger focus on the lyrics , they are for the most part much slower in comparison to their typical sound , with cleaner vocals that are soaked in gut wrenching emotion. they were each recorded in one singular vocal take , as his attempt to get them over with as quickly as possible. the hopes of achieving immediate catharsis. this caused perfectly imperfect and very raw end results —— with the ultimate decision to leave in any flaws or mistakes that would usually be fixed in production ( voice cracks , deep breaths , etc ). he has never and will never perform them live , nor will he discuss them in interviews. despite this , they are still frequently brought up —— and he can typically bypass them with simply answering something along the lines of next question. but on the occasion that this request isn't respected , however , there have been several instances of him bluntly putting an end to the interview and walking out.
