Blake was literally bouncing on the balls of her feet as she greeted Hadley, a fizzing bundle of energy beyond excited to get to share her love of baking with someone else. Any friend of Kianna’s was a friend of Blake’s, that just went without saying. “Nothing to thank me for! You’re the one doing my a favour, it gives me an excuse to bake. I think if I introduce any more desserts to La Vista’s menu Kianna will have my neck for making things too confusing. Plus cupcakes aren’t really for Italian restaurant menus but I love baking them so much so…” She shrugged, waving off the mention of dumb questions with a smile. “No such thing as a dumb question, as long as you don’t ask me what your own name is, because that might be a little bit silly.”
Leading her back into the kitchen that was empty apart from the two of them she gestured to the display of ingredients, turning to the redhead as she clasped her hands together in front of her chest. “So I wasn’t sure if you wanted to make any specific flavour but we can basically…do whatever your heart desires. You tell me what you were thinking and I’ll grab the specifics we’re going to need for it, these are just the more general things.” The plus of working in a restaurant to do this was having pretty much anything she needed at her fingertips, then again you could say the same for Blake’s own apartment which had a kitchen that contained more baking ingredients than it did to make anything else. The amount of small bottles of flavouring she had in her decorating cupboard made it look more like an apothecary than anything else. “So! Talk to me, what have you been thinking? What's in your mind?”
☆゚*·゚BAKING AS ALWAYS something that Hadley wanted to be good at, but she could never grasp the concept. She wasn't sure what it was, but somehow, her brain just couldn't process all of the recipes, or even the measurements. She was much better off taking care of animals. Laughing along with Blake lightly, she was amused, glad that she could tell this would be a fun day. "How many desserts do you have on the menu? I couldn't imagine Kianna doing such a thing." Pulling her hair up into a ponytail, she walked with her into the back of the kitchen, really not even knowing where to start with anything at all. "I mean, can cupcakes get fancy? I really don't know anything about baking. I'm so afraid I'm going to burn something."
Kianna told her that Blake knew exactly what she was talking about and as a result, was the best person for the job. That much was obvious, and Hadley was glad she'd asked. Blake seemed like a ton of fun, so she was in good hands. "Oh gosh, I hadn't even thought of that. Maybe just chocolate and vanilla? To keep it simple. I would like to make some fancy fruit ones, but I think we need to start on a simple level." Her eyes dropped down to the ingredients, eyes widening. There was already so much stuff. What else could she need to get? "I don't know what Kianna told you, but I'm a zookeeper, and we work with penguins and red pandas quite a bit, so I'd like to kind of theme the cupcakes towards those. Is that going to be difficult? Can you even make those things out of frosting?"
