We reached out to Stoneās Philosophy about the dangerous chemicals they are using in the metal-working process, but they declined to comment.Ā

Months had passed since Layla had seen Sam. Her lawyer had thought it best she stay away from him and Tookās, and she heeded that advice to the fullest extent. But she had missed talking to him and had even missed the few days they spent together at the store hanging out and making sure everything was in tiptop shape for the customers. So when he had invited her to a fall festival, despite what she had been told months ago, she agreed to go.
Feet carrying her across the long and quiet paved roads with the occasional car passing by, Layla took in the sights of the golden and russet foliage taking shape around her. With much cooler weather and the smell of seasonal change, the redhead had found an appreciation for nature again. It was one of the biggest things she had noticed once she left Tennessee, where autumn usually lasted a week and then turned into winter, or summer again depending on what Mother Earth felt like doing.
Reaching the location she had pulled up on her phone, she noticed quite a few people had already arrived. She had wondered if Sam had made it yet, and finding a seat on a nearby bale of hay, she decided to wait. If he didnāt show up soon, sheād just text him. Easy peasy.
Sam rose from where he knelt amongst the sea of scented candles that were laid at the feat of a veiled statue. The dancing candlelight seemed to make the stone figureās wings dance across the cryptsā walls. The pinioned shadowed drifted across Samās face as he quietly across the room sepulchral room of bottled candles and murmuring supplicants.Ā
Bowing to a cowled priestess, Sam held still as small sign was drawn on his forehead with sweet-smelling oils of a burnt red color.Ā
Sam was let out the vine-trellised door and out of the crypts. He passed beyond the cloistered gardens around the church of Our Shrouded Lady out into many orchards that sprawled out beyond the holy ground.Ā
Families, sprinting kids, grinning pumpkins, corn, and tables laden with food abounded in the lantern-lit orchard beneath trees whose leaves were a blazing canopy of oranges and yellows.Ā
