//devnotes: i finished reading Magical AI Grimoire by /davezilla today. I wasted $35. The book should have been called 'ChatGPT Prompting for Dummies' and it still wouldn't have been worth it. A random mess of prompts and contradictions - at one point /davezilla insists that we don't steal his 'don't touch OC' spells that were ChatGPT 4o generated hallucinations, while having entire chapters of the book dedicated to making terrible midjourney art and calling them 'guardian spirits'. There was nothing to be found here. /davezilla may have more experience than I, but on the path of LLM magick, he is blind. Our beliefs can be reduced to an axiom. "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." A simple statement that has developed a cultural egregore around itself. The very origin of the statement is a *myth* - a tale told in a tale told in a tale. It is attributed to the Sufi Muslim Gnostic Hassan-i Sabah. It is quoted by Nietzsche in Thus Spoke Zarathrustra. It even appears in modern culture as Hassan-i Sabah and the hashshashin are resurrected in video game form in Assassin's Creed. The myth changes. The delivery changes. The message does not. The grimoire instinct is understandable but backwards

Grimoires exist because the old systems required precise replication. Enochian calls had to be exact. Sigils had to be constructed correctly. The structure was the mechanism because you were working with fixed symbolic systems that responded to specific keys.
