“I’m not sure whether to joke along with you or be mad. Or cry.”

Heather stared at the hand that was being offered for a high-five, decidedly ignoring it as she tilted her head at the blonde, almost as if trying to get a read on her. “There’s quite a bit going on in that head of yours.”

“Good. Thought for a minute there I hit my head a little too hard and was seeing multiples.”

“Not sure if celebrating is the right move right now.”

“So far there’s only like… four Spider-Men that I’ve counted. And another Spider-Lady.”

“I don’t know if that really justifies a high five.”

“So this is all amusing to you, then?”

“Unless you want to meet your maker, I suggest you move.”

“it wasn’t a cult, alright? it was - more of a, uh - a commune.”

“you see, history is much more fascinating than you’d expect it to be.”

“Nope, stop right there. Before you say anything— this is just as confusing for me as it is for you. Scratch that— this is way more confusing for me. So just- don’t say anything stupid, alright?”

“I don’t know if I should be more irritated that S.H.I.E.L.D. imprisoned A.I.M. property or mad that I didn’t come up with it first. It’s infuriatingly genius.”

Daisy was getting herself ready to leave, despite the very stern warning to stay put. The concussion and other injuries from the aftermath of Pleasant Hill were pretty apparent as she blinked hard and turned towards the noise from the other side of the makeshift infirmary. “For the last time, I don’t care what Hill says. I’m not staying and I’m not going to get a psych eval either. I’m fine.” Okay, so maybe that was an understatement. But she wasn’t ready to unpack having to watch her father get restrained and sent to the Raft quite yet.

“I’ve never been so thankful for opposable thumbs.”

“Ya know, It’s sad that it got to that point. But honestly I’m just glad I didn’t get turned into a spider. Or a porcupine.”
