Mat Sella

• “Oh, hello! Welcome to the Coffee Spoon. Anything I can get you?”

• At first, he doesn’t know the man before him is a pastor, until he actually sees the robes— usually, he’s only ever seen Joseph in the clergy robes during his religious services.

• It’s when the man tells him he wants to order enough coffee, lemonades, and snacks to cover the entire mass that Mat realizes he may have just gotten a few hundred dollar order from a man of God.

• Mat sees him a few times, mostly when he comes to the Coffee Spoon; sometimes, he’s in the clerical robes and others it’s everyday attire.

• Mat likes him well enough, seeing how this new neighbour always wishes him a “blessed and love-filled day”— it makes him feel a little off, but also a little touched by the words.

• In general, Mat is neutral on his new neighbour, unable to find it in himself to dislike the man when he comes for coffee and snacks, most often for the people at the church.

Robert Small

• “What? Here to find poor ol’ sinners?”

• Robert is put off by the new neighbour— why would a pastor come to a bar anyway?

• The man is kind, he realizes early on; the Bible verses he quotes about love and care are not Robert's cup of tea, but the man seems to be nice enough.

• Robert finds himself enjoying this new neighbour to a degree, especially when said pastor never gives him pitying looks or tries to change his ways— the snacks slid across the table are enough to lure him in.

• Even when he tries to be an ass, all the man does is reply with “1 Corinthians 13:4-5”— he later learns the full quote is about love and patience.

• Overall, Robert finds him a little off, but warms up bit by bit with a few snacks and the fact his new neighbour is extremely patient, even when someone is being an ass to him.

Joseph Christiansen

• “Oh my! I never thought we’d have another pastor move in to Maple Bay.”

• Joseph has no issue with the new pastor in town— after all, the cul-de-sac is small and everyone knows everyone in Maple Boy.

• He’s one to immediately warm up to him, exchanging his favourites psalms and verses with the new neighbour; he quickly learns the man prefers the ones about patience and love over those of guilt and fear.

• He also finds out that the new pastor in town has a strong inclination to help anyone who asks for it, all the while being patient and calm during the most outlandish of times.

• Joseph ends up inviting him over to his house, and despite how uncanny his children can be, the man has no issue with showing care to the little ones; Joseph also finds he can lure the pastor out of his house more often than not by offering free food.

Haymitch Abernathy

• “I haven’t seen you since…”

• Haymitch can still remember how young they’d been when he was sent to his death in the games.

• His time in the arena had twisted him, making him feel out of control and unable to trust even the closest people around him— not after everything the games had taken from him.

• He saw himself as a broken man, still does, and had pushed away one of the few good things he had in life upon his return as a victor.

• So when he sees them again, older, taller, less scrawny looking than they had been as a child during the worst of the times, he almost breaks.

• To have one of the good things he had left behind come tracking him down like a blood hound, after everything, makes his heart ache.

• For the first time in years, he embraces them again, hugging them tightly like they might disappear— even though he was the one to disappear on them.

• He still smells slightly of booze, like that’s just his normal scent now, but he’s warm, and his hug is tight— Haymitch doesn’t cry, but judging by how tightly he holds them, his old friend's return is clearly enough to invoke some long-buried emotions.

• He doesn’t say anything corny or cliché; all he does is release them and grip their shoulder firmly.

• His broken expression is enough to convey everything— his regrets for leaving them behind, the lonely nights, and the reminder that he had something good.

• He has no words to express his gratitude at them finally coming back to him after all these years.

Finnick Odair

• “Oh, Love, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Nothing comes without a price.”

• He’s downright terrified— how can he trust the Capitol with anything it does, let alone modifying his boyfriend’s body?

• It’s not that he’s against the medical transition; his boyfriend will always be his man regardless of whatever form his body may take.

• It’s the fact that the Capitol operates on an “everything has a price” basis— something he doesn’t want his partner to go through any more than he already does as a victor.

• He doesn’t doubt that his lover could hold his own against the Capitol and its way of favours, deals, and debts, but he’ll still worry— in the end, he’ll stick by his man’s side through it all, knowing exactly how important this is for him.

• Overall, Finnick isn’t against the transition itself, just the Capitol and what it will take for his victor to obtain his gender-affirming care.

Peeta Mellark

• “I don’t know. Are you sure you can trust the Capitol with this?”

• He’s both scared but also wanting to be accepting— he trusts his boyfriend, not the Capitol.

• Peeta spouts his worries almost immediately, scared that he could lose his victor to the Capitol’s endless debts and favours.

• When he knows that his man is serious, he sticks by his side— Peeta can’t risk anything, playing up his charm to try alleviating the stress of possible Capitolites vying for his boyfriend's company when they already try so hard with him being a victor.

• Peeta knows how important this is, what it means to his beloved, and he can’t stop himself from caring so deeply that he’ll risk it all in the end if it means his lover will be happier in life.

• Generally, Peeta is scared but wanting to be supportive, only wanting the best for his man— even if that means playing up his charms to fool the elites into funding everything with as little  consequence as possible.

Haymitch Abernathy

• “Sweetheart, please. We can’t trust the Capitol no matter how much they tempt you.”

• At first, he’s enraged— how can his man turn towards the Capitol for his cares, or anything else for that matter, when he knows how it operates?

• Then, it’s fear; what if the Capitol takes away the one good thing he has in life?

• Finally, he accepts it, though unhappily— he can’t stop his victor from wanting something so important.

• He hates everything about the Capitol and its elites, but he’ll try his damn hardest to play nice and charm them the best he can if it means his man can get something of such significance to him.

Finnick Odair

• “Oh, Love. If that’s really what you want, we can try it.”

• Finnick has no issues with this, even if he’s a little hesitant on the inside, not wanting to actually trigger or seriously hurt his boyfriend.

• He tries to be slow, explaining everything he's doing, and plans to do, while he’s doing it— all in hopes of not accidentally triggering a traumatic memory.

• If he does happen to trigger something, he tries his best to rectify it, wanting to find the root of the problem.

• There are some things that trigger Finnick himself, so he gently lets his man know that he just can’t do some of the things he wants.

• In the end, Finnick, though hesitant, has no issues with exploring this safely; letting his partner know if he can or cannot do something in a scene, while also explaining everything he does in hopes of not triggering anything.

Peeta Mellark

• “I just don’t want to hurt you.”

• Peeta is absolutely afraid of hurting his male lover— how can he even get off on the pain he may cause?

• He wants nothing to do with the idea, even if his boyfriend is okay with pain play— he just can’t bring himself to harm him.

• No matter how hard he tries, he has to turn down the idea of it; he can only be persuaded if the act is meant to help his lover overcome triggers, rather than give sexual gratification, and then he’ll bend over backwards to do it.

• To cause pain to the one he loves only makes him think of his past in the games, of hurting people he didn’t know for the pleasure of others— and that aspect, in and of itself, is amplified when his male partner tries to get him to play the role of a sadist.

• Overall, Peeta refuses to participate in pain play, no matter how enthusiastic his boyfriend is, as he's unable to cope with the idea of harming anyone else, (especially his boyfriend), after everything he’s been through.

Haymitch Abernathy

• “I’ll see what we can work with, Sweetheart.”

• Haymitch doesn’t like the idea at all, but he’ll do it— only for his man.

• While he tries his best, he gets triggered more than his own boyfriend by some of the most mundane pain play— he can’t help but remember the games and the losses he’s sustained.

• He learns to work within his boundaries though, telling his man his triggers and exactly what’s going on inside because he’ll be damned if he messes up the only good thing in his life by not doing the bare minimum: communicating.

• There are some instances where he does enjoy the sadistic role, but he never actually communicates that, only doing all this for his boyfriend— his own enjoyment isn't at all his priority, and he'll only express it if asked by his lover.

Finnick Odair

• “That’s fine. I have no issue with that, Love.”

• Finnick is honestly tired of sex— not due to his man, but just in general.

• He just wants peace for once; a night out with his boyfriend and just enjoying his company.

• Finnick enjoys sharing quality time and care over having sex— so to be told his male lover doesn’t want it or just doesn’t care about it is a relief.

• Any time spent doing things together is enough for him.

• Overall, Finnick has no problem with the lack of sex or the indifference to it, happy to spend time with his man in any way he wishes.

Peeta Mellark

• “If that’s what you want, we never have to do it.”

• Peeta, though slightly disappointed, isn’t one to push on the issue.

• He loves his boyfriend for who he is, and if that means not caring about sex, then so be it.

• Peeta knows other ways to make his man happy— quality time together, small gifts that actually have meaning, and non-sexual intimacy is enough to satisfy Peeta’s need to show support.

• He may ask now and then whether his man wants to have sex, and if it’s a no, he respects it— if the answer is yes, he makes sure to cover all bases on what he likes and dislikes before doing the deed.

• In the end, Peeta completely accepts it, showing his love and support in other ways.

Haymitch Abernathy

• “Very well, Sweetheart. I’ll accept that.”

• Haymitch isn’t exactly bothered— he’s in his forties, and given his history, hasn’t really thought of sex in a long time.

• He won’t really ask for sex— he won’t even bring up the topic.

• Haymitch has no problem enjoying a nice drink with his boyfriend over having sex, or otherwise simply sharing his time.

• If his boyfriend does want to do the deed, he’ll set aside his drink for the night— no one ever said he wouldn’t drop everything if it means enjoying a little bit of sexual intimacy with his lover.

Finnick Odair

• “I don’t mind keeping you by my side for a little longer.”

• Finnick knows exactly how the Capitol operates, and how their elites act— he’s the one to request they keep their relationship on the down low in the first place.

• He’ll still be flirtatious with his secret significant other in front of the Capitol citizens and high buyers; playing the game of a charming young man who’s simply trying to obtain the heart of another.

• He always laughs off any questions about his love life, claiming he could never abandon his fans for a life of normalcy.

• While it’s all an act in public, he is still tender and genuine in those private moments with his boyfriend.

• Overall, Finnick doesn’t let the Capitol know anything about their relationship, knowing exactly how bad it would be if they found out.

Peeta Mellark

• “I know you’re afraid, but we can work through this. Together.”

• Peeta believes that keeping a secret won’t end well for either of them, but will keep it quiet if that’s what his boyfriend truly wants.

• He’ll nearly slip at times during interviews, but covers it all up with a smile or shake of his head; playing the golden retriever who simply cares too deeply for his friend.

• There are times when his grip is a tad too rough, or he stands a little too close to his male lover at parties and banquets the Capitol holds— it’s never due to his man, no, it’s always the fault of crowding or flirtatious citizens or elites.

• He’s careful though, much more so than it appears, as he tries to keep it all on the down low; he only allows himself to let down the facade in the privacy of their own quarters.

• In the end, Peeta does his best to keep their relationship a secret, playing up the sweet boy charm if it means keeping them both from trouble.

Haymitch Abernathy

• “The worst they can do is chew us up and spit us out, Sweetheart.”

• Haymitch knows exactly what it could mean for their love life to be out there for all to see.

• While his words are meant to be reassuring, he doesn’t spit an ounce of info on their relationship to anyone.

• He keeps it close to his heart like the flask in his pocket— and while he can’t place his lips on his man in public, he can dream about it as he sips on his drink.

• It’s only in the dead of night, when they both have privacy, that he can show his love and care— away from any prying eyes that may try to take it from him.

Stu Macher

• “Well, Babe. Who’d’ve thought we’d fit so nicely together?”

• Stu is up and over the moon— the person he’s been eyeing over Billy’s shoulder belongs to them both.

• He knew from the moment he saw them, he wanted them to be a part of their little group.

• It’s only even better now that he knows they’re soulmates; it means they’re bound together for life.

• Stu doesn’t plan on letting them go either, much like Billy— how can he, when destiny has decided they’re stuck with him forever?

• Overall, Stu is ecstatic about this revelation and accepts them with open arms immediately.

Billy Loomis

• “Think we’re not destined to be now?”

• Billy, at first, had been surprised— the person Stu had been eyeing, (from day one of their arrival, really) had been a part of them they were searching for.

• He knew, deep down, there was a missing piece to their little duo— now that he’s found it, he won’t be letting them go so easily.

• Billy doesn’t even entertain the idea that they may not like him or Stu— they’re stuck with them no matter what now that their status as soulmates is revealed.

• He’ll make sure no one gets in the way and ruin it for him or Stu.

Billy Lenz

• “Pretty Piggy is so strong! Stronger than Billy!”

• Billy may or may not stare a little too long, drool dripping from his lips.

• How can he not stare at those muscles, the arms, the thighs?

• His hands definitely wander, grabbing and groping anything he can.

• He’s never seen someone so muscular before— everyone else he'd run into had been more lean or slightly squared, not a bulky, hot hunk.

• It definitely gets him hot and bothered when he starts to imagine those hands on him— it could be trailing along his skin, grabbing him, or downright squeezing around his throat.

• He’s a straight horn dog every time his man bends over, showing off his thighs and ass against those muscles beneath all that cloth.

• If Billy had it his way, his boyfriend would always be unclothed so he can admire his physique.

• During sex, Billy outright refuses to top, wanting to feel every inch of those muscles around him like a warm, weighted blanket.
