Friends, this past Sunday Feb 2nd on Guru Rugu's Experimental Meditation Hour on KChung Radio, we spoke with and listened to the therapeutic music of our esteemed guest, Holyman, Patrick Foley! mp3 "Patrick Foley's Holyman project began as a breathing exercise to avoid hand tension while playing the guitar. Practicing simple, repetitive and -- most importantly -- very long pieces, Patrick reached new levels of stamina and focus and it became clear that this music should be performed. Informed more by ambient electronic than by classical or jazz guitar, at a club or a traditional music venue the audience might feel compelled too pay too much attention to these meditative pieces. Produced while Guru Rugu was in residence at NODAR in the mountainous Portugeuse village of Macieira (near Sul), this pamphlet tells the story of the recently re-discovered Saint Portugal Telecom, whose chapel and radio tower lie atop the nearby mountain, right next to the chapel of local saint, São Macario.
