But when I (a girl) ask everyone to watch f1 with me, they say it's "too boring" and that they don't want to, even if the race is at a convenient time, they have "other things to do". When my driver doesn't do well, he's "washed" and I should stop supporting that team. And if I get emotional over it, I'm being "too loud" and "disruptive".

Ok so my Grandma's friend and her sons showed up unnanounced at the house today, conveniently right at race time. I was locked in infront of the TV as usual, so ready for lights out, when her son's announce they're "HUGE" f1 fans, so naturally, they come join me for the race 🙄.

They kept whispering to each other throughout the race about stuff I couldn't hear, and whenever I said anything to do with what was happening on track, they ignored me, but if my dad or grandpa repeated the same, they all discussed it as if it was some great revelation. They had a few questions about the race and I was answering them, but those answers were only valid when my dad repeated them word for word, because clearly only men can be into motorsports 🙄🙄.

When Checo retired, I pointed it out, and they were saying it's "such a fall from grace" from his "glory days at redbull" and I was gonna point out like what glory days at redbull!? You know how BADD my man was doing in 2024? (No offense checo I'm sorry). Then they started referencing Sakhir 2020 and how Checo won it but they "didn't remember which team he was at" I was telling them it was Racing Point, but of course you don't listen to the girl when it comes to motor racing 🙄. Clearly my wheel knowledge is nonexistent and I'm just there for the "hot drivers" 🙄.

Then, after Kimi pit, they were all freaking out because he dropped down, and I had to explain a million times that Kimi is still provisionally in the lead, Lando hasn't pit yet, once he does, the order will go back to normal. But NOOO clearly I lie 🙄. Clearly when Kimi eventually gets the lead back, he's a legendary driver who's SOO impressive. Like NO he's NOT that's just how pitstops work!! (Again, no offence Kimi - it's not about you)

I don't know, it just made me really mad the whole race - I was thinking about this kinda the whole time 💔. It's just like, am I not allowed to know stuff about racing and f1? (I guarantee I know more than them 🙄) Are my opinions invalid? Why are the drivers and teams I support immediately the worst?

Oof chat, this is a pretty difficult one I can't lie. There are so many different factors going in to this race, literally anything could happen. I do think the ferraris will be in contention for the podium (maybe even the win) considering their race pace is MUCH stronger than their quali pace. What will be interesting is redbull's pace though. Will the lack of macarena really affect them? I think Isack's recovery drive will be quite telling, considering Max went from the back to p5 in Melbourne (and that was BEFORE the big Austria upgrades). I hope Max can keep up with at LEAST the ferraris, but let's see. And Lando's looked pretty strong all weekend too, so let's see how he recovers from p13 (depending on how quickly he gets back up into the top 5 ish, he could be a genuine threat).

Not confident in that AT ALL, but let's see. The way I see it, its gonna be Kimi, then either lewis, max, or max, lewis. But that's a bit optimistic. I can definitely see lando or george getting in there too.

Lando/ Isack get their best quali result of the year (only to be bumped down by penalties 💔), Arvid Lindblad gets in the top 8, we see a driver have a moment at turn 13 (Gasly and Hamilton have both already had crashes there) and Hulkenberg breaks out of the q2 curse (makes it to q3)

Lando did indeed get his best quali of the year, Arvid did get in the top 8 (and will start p7 thanks to Lando), no t13 moment, and I think I cursed Hulkenberg instead lol 🙈. He broke down 💔💔
