I love the fics where Ilya has a private unhinged hockey stan twt account, to play with that idea what if it was Shane with the twt account?
I don't think Shane would have a thirst account, so I imagine it being something more like a chart update account, where are every match Ilya plays there is a detailed analytical breakdown of his stats and plays posted on twitter. It starts during the six month ghosting and he tells himself its an elevated tape review exercise. After every game Ilya plays, within 24 hours there is a thread from twt user @ Rosanov81stats rain or shine it doesnt matter. Shane analyses a few other players too whenever the game is particularly interesting, but Ilya is the only player with every game analysed.
Ofcourse this is a popular account, but not for its virality, people do think its cute how dedicated Roasanov81stats is to the game, but the numbers are so accurate they get regularly quoted and sourced by journalists in their articles, in the interviews and the Boston coaching team is actually so grateful to the account they've tried multiple times to DM the user and offer free tickets, but he remains elusive.
I think it'd all come to head post long game as well during a press conference one of the reporters misquotes his stats to him and when Shane corrects them, the reporter doesnt back down like a sane person and says "oh you have all the face off percentages of ever game memorised" and Shane in all his sassy glory replies back "I know these ones because I'm the one who calculated them you are misquoting my own tweet to me" and turns to look at Ilya to share a 'can you believe this idiot look' and thats when he realises that no one knew he was twt user Rosanov81stats. As they all look back at him in shock, Shane tries to work out what the hell the social media lecture he had to sit through last month was about
