Ogilvy & Mather HK - Blockbuster Pizza Box
A non-profit named Fashion Revolution has created a wonderful social experiment that has challenged people to reconsider how they shop for their clothes. A vending machine they set up in Berlin offers passers-by shirts for only 2 Euro (roughly $2.19), but there was an unexpected catch… they first had to watch a video about the exploited sweatshop laborers that make cheap clothing possible.
The video was released on April 24th, or Fashion Revolution Day. This day commemorates the collapse of the Rana Plaza in Bangladesh in 2013, which killed more than 1,000 garment workers who had been making clothing for American brands in unsafe conditions. The workers at such factories are often underage, and most are also underpaid and overworked. Fashion Revolution wants to encourage people to start asking questions about their clothes, like where they were made and under what conditions they were made.

The History of Typography in 5 minutes! From Johannes Gutenberg's Blackletter to the Comic Sans
"Dead Drops" A brilliant idea of an offline and anonymous platform in public space!
USB flash drives are embedded into walls, buildings and curbs accessable to anybody in public space. Everyone is invited to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your favorite files and data. Each dead drop is installed empty except a readme.txt file explaining the project. ‘Dead Drops’ is open to participation. If you want to install a dead drop in your city/neighborhood follow the ‘how to’ instructions and submit the location and pictures.

Built on the familiar unlock cyclists carry with them daily, the Skylock offers the most robust mechanical lock available with cutting edge connective technology to bring cycling into the 21st century. Skylock is a one of a kind connected device that is based on a proprietary dual locking design making it twice as safe as a traditional u-lock. In addition to robust mechanics, a theft alert system sends a message to your phone when someone touches your lock for an extended period. Alerts are sent via bluetooth or via Wi-Fi, the first time either communication methods are available in one device. Using Bluetooth Low-Energy, Wi-Fi, and an accelerometer, Skylock pairs itself with a smartphone to be contextually aware. Through this connectivity Skylock can keep cyclists safer by comparing accelerometer data from a smartphone to its own and determine when a rider has been in an accident. In the event of a severe impact Skylock will send a push notification to see if the rider is ok. If they fail to acknowledge the notification within a set number of seconds, Skylock will automatically determine that the rider is seriously hurt and alert emergency responders so they can come to the rider's aid as quickly as possible. With the Skylock app, users can arrange to lend out their bike to anyone in their trusted network or the Skylock community while keeping track of it via the app. Within the Skylock bike community, bike owners can lend their bikes based on prices relative to demand and location. Skylock is the first device that utilizes a combined solar panel and rechargeable battery system to virtually eliminate manual charging. Just one hour of sunlight provides enough power for a week and a fully charged battery lasts up to a month for average users. So unless the rider lives in a cave with little or no sunlight, the Skylock will always be ready to go. All this and more are included in a feature packed device small enough to fit in a back pocket. Velo Labs is the San Francisco based startup responsible for Skylock - the first device for the age of connected cycling. Velo Labs officially launched its crowdfunding campaign for Skylock on May 15, 2014 and is set to start shipping by Spring 2015.

"Zelfmoord 1813" is a helpdesk in Belgium for persons (in their environment) who have suicidal tendencies. They are looking for new volunteers and came up with this brilliant campaign.
This is an eyeopener!
Today’s video is about a man walking backwards through Tokyo, Japan. It gets a bit spooky a few times but I love the idea. This clip is part of 9-hour video called Tokyo Reverse and aired on a French TV.

'Feel Flavour - A Sonic Poster'
Herb & Spice brand Schwartz is all about flavour. But how do you dramatise flavour when flavour is invisible and silent?
Simple: make it possible for people to see, hear and feel it. Print Tech collective, Novalia and ad agency Grey London have collaborated on an interactive poster that uses innovative ‘touch sensitive’ inks to turn the surface area of the paper into an interactive interface.
Illustrator Billie Jean was invited to create a visual articulation of what taste might look like. Each herb and spice depicted in the artwork was then assigned a musical chord matching its flavour characteristic. For example, cumin became E flat major, chilli was ascribed A flat major and fennel was characterised by a higher pitched F minor. The image was then back-printed with an innovative conductive ink, effectively giving the poster capacitive touch technology. When paired with a mobile device via Bluetooth, the poster becomes an interactive musical instrument.
The poster was created as part of a Schwartz promotion designed to target the retail trade.
