A Very Grumpy Mowse

Imagine that the Eridians keep an eye (or carapace?) on humans at all times. If something happens to either of them, they want to act as quickly as possible to help, since basically any problem in their habitat can be fatal.

They are happy that Grace and Simon have moved past the awkwardness phase and are getting along. They are talking, spending time together, greatly improving both of their mental health. In the beginning, Simon attacked Grace a few times, but now they are even hugging! Progress!

One "night" (which is probably the time they turn off the lights in the habitat so humans can sleep better) a Eridian, who had been listening to the humans, begins to hear sounds they've never heard before. Muffled, damp sounds. Paying attention, the Eridian realizes that Simon and Grace are the source of these noises and that Simon is HURTING GRACE! THIS ARE SOUNDS OF PAIN!!! ALERT ALERT ALERT

Grace thinks it's a great idea and, after having piercings explained to him, Rocky agrees, so Rocky makes Simon a simple stud out of xenonite and Grace helps him pierce his ear.

After smiling and admiring his new look (because Simon does that now, smile), the next thing Simon does is look at Grace and ask him if he thought it looked cool.

Grace stutters out something along the lines of "o-oh yeah super cool like, mega cool", and then has to look away because what the fudge what the crap what the HECK, it's just an earring, WHY IS HE GETTING ALL FLUSTERED.

Meanwhile Simon is just looking at him like this:

Simon can curl up in Grace's arms and know he's safe.

Simon continues to rejoice at the fact that he can look at recordings of something living existing on Earth
