what sucks about going to a small liberal arts college is that you initially go into it thinking that everyone is going to be alternative (as someone who has unfortunately gone to religious private school for most of my life, this seemed very exciting)---which is true, to a degree, but alternative becomes its own form of basic. every "alternative" person looks pretty much the same. okay so you have dyed hair and listen to geese. wow. not to sound self aggrandizing but i only know of like two other people who seem interested in stepping outside the box in terms of fashion/music/etc. it quickly becomes very alienating.

besides just looking the same, everyone acts the same. people just want to sit around and chain smoke and bitch about everyone because it's a small campus so everybody has beef with everybody. it's soooo unbelievably tiring and even moreso disappointing to realize that a majority of people are pretty uninteresting
