BTW, my cuzz threw a huge party tonight with 3 bands at my other shop in Kailua and I should be over there having fun right now, but I'm here designing lol. As an entrepreneur, the cliché is that we have the freedom to work whenever we choose.. which is TRUE.. yet most of us tend to work even more. For me, it's just my drive. If someone wastes 10 minutes of your time.. 8 minutes of that, is Your fault. Within 2 minutes, you should've realized what was happening and politely removed yourself from the time-depleting situation. Respect your time, respect theirs, and respect the fact that once your time is up on this Earth, you're gone. Keep your priorities solid and do not tolerate anyone who treats you as an option, or anyone who treats your nobility like their entitled to it. I've grown up enough now to realize that I have wasted a large portion of my life on people who's words were pleasing, but who's actions showed they really didn't give a sh*t about me.. while on the flip-side I did not invest enough time on others who would have loved to move forward, together. I can only apologize to myself and share these experiences so you don't have to go through the same and waste your time either. The world is our classroom. Life is our teacher. Just sharing a Father-Son moment. My 18 month old son loves any type of Trucks, Bulldozers, and Motorcycles. He found my daughter's Barbie Doll stash and tore off one of their legs. When I saw him rush into the room holding the legless Barbie in one hand and the leg in the other whacking the wall with it, all I could say was, "Good Job Son, Atta' Boy!" Lol!! BTW, no worries, I love my daughter dearly. I'll reattach it before she comes home from school. Update: While writing this, he tore the arm off too. I have no idea where it is now. Would like to send a huge Mahalo to my sister @KanoeMalani for blessing us with our store's name. When @HumbleMokz began construction on it back in December of last year, when our store was just an oversized storage container on a concrete slab, we called it Pūʻai, since we treated it kind of like a Potluck. We put in together, we eat together. As time passed the store took on a different character and we decided to rename it. Really good names popped up and one was even given to us by a prominent Hawaiian artist, but none really stuck. Then Makau came about. Makau is a Hawaiian Fish Hook or it can also mean a skill or ability.
