I haven’t really consistently exercised since the pandemic began. I’ve never been someone who can exercise at home. And between moving, starting a PhD program, not feeling safe at gyms in Georgia… I really fell out of the habit to the point where exercise really feels like a chore.

I’ve stayed in somewhat shape just from going on walks, but I miss feeling strong. For the first time in my life I feel like I can’t take the identity of “athlete” and that made me sad. But this week is spring break and I’ve worked out 4 days and I’m really proud. Nothing crazy. 20 mins of cardio 30 mins of light lifting. But it’s something. And I know my mental health and stress and quality of sleep would be vastly improved if I can keep this up, so here’s hoping.

I spent so much of my life venting on tumblr nad trying to get to this point and it’s weird how disconnected I am from tumblr by the time I’ve finally achieved it.
