Soft music drifted through the small household, Sinatra, only accompanied by sound of cutting coming from the kitchen. A pot with broth and vegetables sat up on the stove, fire flickering up and licking at the bottom of the pot.
Standing in the center of the kitchen, decorated with little wood charms from the ceiling and a pale blue wallpaper, Sarah held a knife in one hand as she cut up meat for the stew. Her hair, the color like that of a sunset painting snowy landscapes sat up in a messy bun out of the way. She rocked the knife back and forth, slice, slice, slice, then she pushed those pieces aside and grabbed the next piece of meat.
Meanwhile, her patient Aiden, sat across from her on a stool, head in his hands as he propped himself up on his elbows. His glasses were slipping off his nose, but he couldn't care, he sat there enamored by the woman before him who was just simply making dinner for the both of them. His clothes felt too tight, too warm as he watched her every move, blowing away the stray strand of black hair that had the audacity to block his veiw.
This was a normal accordance in the home, Aiden would give Sarah some meat from his...trips to town and then she'd make stew, one of his favorites. He would sit there and watch as she swayed to the music in the background that floated from the record player and cooked a meal, he would help, wanted to in fact but the last time he did that he had somehow managed to space out enough to toss the peeler into the pot instead of the potatoes. Sarah was worried, she thought the medication was supposed to be making him better, thats what kept her at the Grey house in the middle of no where anyway. The pills didn't work especially if you didn't take them. So since Aiden was banned from helping he just watched, and if her chest just happened to be in the line of sight of her cutting then that was an added bonus.
As the music slowed to an end Sarah takes the cutting board and knife, holding it above the simmering pot of stew before pushing the meat off the board with the knife blade, and covering it up to cook. She wipes her hands off on a blue hand towel decorated with little ducks. Aiden perks up as she starts to move around to the other side of the kitchen island, shifting his lanky legs to stretch before he stands up and straightens out the turtle neck that hugged his thin and scraggly frame. He bit at the already raw skin of his lips, wetting them with his tongue as he pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose, watching closely through them as Sarah looked up towards him, a soft smile on her lips.
"The stew is going to take a while, im going to sit down and read, would you like to join me?"
He nods faster than he can think, faster than his heart can stumble over itself as he follows her into the adjacent living room. He watches as she sits down on one end of the couch, couch dipping under her weight, the worn leather groaning in protest as she put her legs up on the cushions as well, leaning against the arm of the couch. Aiden watches in fascination at her every movement, from the way her dress road up just slightly to expose the meat of her calf, and how the couch bent under her delectable flesh.
Sarah grabs one of her books from the coffee table that sat in front of the couch as Aiden sat across from her. When she was sent to look after Aiden Grey and make sure his medication was working she had taken a handful of books with her, most that she had read already. Before getting full comfortable waiting for the food to cook Aiden puts the record player on once again, the soft music drifting through the small cabin.
