cTommy being a troubled kid that isn't always right is very important to the abuse he faces. The fact that abusers target troubled kids means cTommy shouldn’t be portrayed as a perfect victim. Because he isn’t.

He was rude and terrible at times, not to mention selfish, and struggled to see others perspectives, which caused him to provoke them.

The point isn't that cTommy is innocent in everything he does, the point is that he doesn't deserve to be abused even if he isn’t a good person all the time.

He was an angry child. He needed to be 'fixed' or ‘corrected.' At least, after a while, that's what he began to think.

Abusers tend to use that line of logic with troubled kids, and it works, getting into the kid's minds that they are only helping them. (cDream and exile).

As for the people around the troubled child, it's more likely for them to write off the abuse because the kid themselves gets written off as being a problem.

cTommy was quite literally THE problem child. He had zero protection because no adult was really on his side nor did they want to deal with him.

And the chances of being revictimized and abused/ manipulated again are so high, so cTommy is still this angry child, but more guarded.

He had cTechno for a while, but that ended in betrayal. cSam was supposed to be safety, ended up betraying that.

cTommy’s story as a troubled kid is essential to understanding his character and watering him down to some innocent baby that did no wrong totally erases what his character development stood for.
