gregory/henry’s lawyer

in light of the fnaf: sotm, i wanted to share some snippets from the silver eyes, the twisted ones, and the fourth closet about henry—or, more specifically, his relationship with william and his involvement with the creation of the animatronics/springlocks.

i know that the book lore is not canon to the game lore; however scott has stated that they sometimes cross wires. so, i feel it important to include in the conversation when we discuss the topic of edwin murray “creating everything”, as well as “both william and henry double crossing him”.

i believe that henry and edwin were actually working in collaboration with each other on the animatronics/springlocks, and that both henry and edwin were blind-sighted when fazbear entertainment decided to back out of the deal with edwin. perhaps henry was fed a lie, who knows. it seems like william is farther up in the ranks than henry, after all.

just a theory!

i think that they're trying to set up a gregory = david-robot narrative (if gregory is a robot at all), which wouldn't surprise me at all.

for one, david’s a brunette, so’s gregory (weak evidence, i know, but i gotta put it in there).

david, in the tapes at least, shies away from the animatronics, scared of them (although, he eventually comes around to the mimic). gregory shares this same sentiment with him. he is not enamored with any of the animatronics, and only comes around to glamrock freddy with great reluctance.

edwin says something along the lines of this in one of the tapes, “i could've been teaching him (david) how to build things”. gregory, as we know, is crazy-skilled at hacking, repairing/rebuilding animatronics, etc. like he’s been taught, or programmed, how to build.

gregory, while being a little bit wary of glamrock freddy, doesn't actually find it all that odd that he now has a robotic companion. of course he wouldn't; david didn't blink an eye at the mimic. he just treated him like a friend.

i've also been playing around with the idea that gregory was one of edwin’s failed attempts at making a david-bot, being that he doesn't act like david does in the tapes. he's bossy, and combative, and prone to wreaking havoc lmao, whereas david was shier, and pretty soft-spoken. edwin may not have liked this version of the david-bot because it was too different from his late son, and tried to scrap it at some point? it would explain gregory not remembering anything (maybe because he was reset/memory flushed). who knows!

I find it interesting that edwin refers to henry as “hen” rather than “H.E.”, “henry”, “emily”, etc.

to me, it sounds like edwin was good friends with him, not just business partners. my best guess when it comes to the designs for freddy, bonnie, chica, foxy, spring bonnie, fredbear, etc., is that they collaborated on them. maybe even the springlocks, considering that one) edwin wanted to email henry about them and two) in the silver eyes novels it's heavily implied that henry is the true creator of the springlocks; plus the core four animatronics and spring bonnie/fredbear.
