What’d you just say? You’re not shitting me?

//Um... this question was hard to answer. My initial reaction is to say “not entirely”. Gregor loves himself first and foremost, but I’m not sure if vanity should really could towards love, haha. 

Gregor did/does/it’s complicated love Miranda. With her, that’s the closest he’s ever come to being “in love”. He did very genuinely care for her and, at first, was just sort of obsessed with her. Obsessed with having her as his and claiming her and all that terrible stuff. But that grew to love and then grew to almost being in love. He’s like the Grinch in that his heart grew two sizes but didn’t quite complete that final transformation. 

He also very genuinely cared about Evan in a way that he didn’t/doesn’t care for his own siblings. Out of his siblings, he is genuinely affectionate about Lucinda because he respects her. Isla and Viola are the obnoxious younger siblings he didn’t want (because they’re girls; he wanted a brother) and so he transferred whatever affection he should have had for them onto Evan.
