Joeâs Girlfriend: Fan Theory
Have anyone noticed that Joe in the Diablomon Strikes Back OVA he meets this girl?
What if the girl from the bicycle on the 4th movie becomes Joeâs Girlfriend later on Digimon Tri?
What is the name of that girl?
Weâve called her âbike girlâ but yesh I very much stand for this theory xD
anyway hereâs this that i put too much time into thinking about: hypothetical digimon partners for class 1-A, plus bonus round
tried to stick to rookie digimon/standard-grade appmon overall, even for the adults, but i figure because Toshinori and Enji are as high-ranking as they are, they can have digimon that default to champion form.
please all im asking is for someone to draw me all might and a leomon that has the hair antennae. please. im begging you.

A Little Support for Taichi
I love Digimon. It has been one of my favorite animes since childhood. However, even your favorite shows or franchises have things you wish were changed, especially now that you are looking at them from a more mature perspective. I really donât like the Digimon franchiseâs trend of the leader is the only one who does anything wrong. In particular, I donât like it with Taichi because he is the only one we have actually seen in multiple seasons. They never really acknowledge the things Taichi does right or his good characteristics. These are just two things in particular I hope get some form of acknowledgement in the final two Digimon Adventure Tri films.
Yes, Taichi has made a few mistakes. However, so did the rest of the characters. I donât see them constantly bringing up how Mimi threw Taichi, Jyou, Agumon, Gomamon, and even Palmon in jail. I donât see constant reminders of Takeru throwing Tokumon away and leaving with Demidevimon. As each of the characters go on throughout the series, Taichi is the only one where his mistakes are consistently highlighted, especially SkullGreymon. Everyone else gets to make their mistakes, apologize or not, and itâs completely forgiven and forgotten. You never see them mention it again. As previously said, Taichi has made some mistakes. However, he was a man about all of those mistakes. He immediately accepted responsibility, apologized, looked at what he did wrong, and corrected himself. He never once made excuses for or light of anything he did wrong. Even now, he acknowledges their Digimon did cause part of the damage. He is not looking at it and saying, âItâs ok because weâre the good guysâ. Taichi has always been a man about any and everything he did. It would be a nice change to see them focus on that part of Taichi.
For the entire first season, they kept hounding Taichi about being the way he was. Now all of a sudden we get to Tri and itâs ok for Yamato to just rush in and fight and Mimi to be inconsiderate of other people because she has good intentions. All of these characters are individually experiencing everything Taichi learned on his own in season one. However, Taichi is still wrong for it and the others are still right. Despite his flaws, some of them were the very traits that made him a good leader. Taichi has always been a character that was realistic and able to do whatâs necessary. Taichi could make those hard decisions. Taichi could fight and keep the love and memory of his friends and allies in his heart as he did so. He could make the best decisions for the team, not just select people. With Tri in general, he sees how severe and much more complicated their problem is now compared to when they were children. Â In Loss, he realizes they may not be able to save Meicoomon. Taichi is still that character that sees the reality. Why canât this be what we talk about Taichi for now, especially since they are at the door of adulthood?
As we get closer to part 5 and the eventual conclusion of Tri, I really hope they finally acknowledge how hard Taichi works, his growth, and that he has been right. This is a beautiful character. He deserves better than being highlighted only for his negatives. Can Taichi please have one victory?!
YOO someone actually said it. XD
For real though, as unfair as it might feel like I admit this may be part of the huge reason I like this damn character so freaking much; in the end I really admire Taichi and everything he represents for this very reason. Because he takes responsability and doesnât turn against people for having them pointing fingers at him, when it really matters he just accepts it and takes all the blame! gah
Heck I usually say heâs like a puppy I want to keep and protect. This. This is the very reason why! But at the same time Iâm aware this isnât the whole truth about it. I feel like everybody in the group admires and respects Taichi so much, they just canât help but trust him beyond reason and they keep putting the highest expectations on him (something Yamato himself confirmed the last film! And hell he even sounded sad about it, like he admited heâs too harshâŚ)
Bottonline: everybody admires him and respects him and thatâs the very reason everybody has so many high expectations for him and just expects him to act. I think in a way the audience feels like this too, and⌠god I love this character so so much, I believe him tooâŚ. and yet sometimes I just want everybody  - audience, characters, I dont really care - to just⌠give him a hug already?? LOL
I completely agree with you that Taichi is a character who makes mistakes and owns up to them, and this is what makes him so great.
However, I gotta weigh in here, because I actually donât really agree with the rest of this post.Â
Letâs talk about the fandom first. I actually do not think the fandom has issues with Taichi holding back because they have high expectations of him, I think it comes from a misunderstanding of his character. I have often seen people refer to his actions in Tri as OOC, myself included. It actually took me a very long time to come around on Taichiâs character in Tri, I didnât fully come around to it until I recently rewatched season 1. I find people are annoyed that Taichi isnât acting because they are used to him acting without considering the other aspects of his character that influence his decisions. I never fully realized how much Taichi is misinterpreted by fans until I learned to understand him better. Taichi is often characterized as a idiot or someone who is incredibly impulsive all the time. It also speaks volumes that a good chunk of the fandom thinks Daisuke and Taichi are the same character when it is, in my opinion, really hammered in that they are not. The two are shown to disagree with each otherâs methods in 02. If you cannot tell the difference between these two characters than it is my opinion that you do not truly understand either. Furthermore, all of the characters are reprimanded by people in the fandom for their âflawsâ, I see a ton of hate for Mimi, Jyou, and Yamato. Omg Yamato is despised and horribly misinterpreted by the fandom!
Letâs talk about Yamato for a second because I have actually personally seen far more people from the fandom talk poorly of him for his actions in Tri than Iâve seen people talk poorly of Taichi. Iâve seen lots of people say that Yamato needs to leave Taichi alone because Taichi is in the right. Iâve seen people say that Yamato is immature and doesnât understand anything, or Iâve even seen people claim he has regressed, becoming less mature than he was in season 1. None of these things are true. I do not think Tri is making either of these characters out to be completely in the right or completely in the wrong. Yamato is correct when he says if they do not act that things will be worse and Taichi is correct that they need to consider the consequences of their actions because things might be worse if they donât. It is not a coincidence that the exact same concerns are fueling their actions. It is highlighted in Saikai (Reunion) that these two characters are doing what they are doing for the same reasons, only that their responses and conclusions are different.
Neither is correct and yet both are correct, they need to come to a happy medium. People from the fandom need to fully recognize that these two characters are designed to be two sides of the same coin, that is why their highest point is Omegamon, the fusion of two Digimon. The Digimonâs evolutions represent the growth of the characters, their character arcs have reached their conclusion when they reach their highest level. This is why Omegamon has not formed correctly throughout Tri, because neither of these characters have had closure on their character arcs.
Coming back around to Yamato, I also see way way more flack given to him for his errors than I have ever seen given to Taichi. I constantly see people bring up his actions in episode 45. Furthermore, itâs not uncommon for me to see people call out both characters for their actions in episode 43 through to 45.
Now regarding how the creators and staff view Taichi. Again I have to disagree that his flaws are constantly highlighted. Like I pointed out above, I really donât think Tri makes either out to be in the right or the wrong. In fact, you see the same arguments happening between other characters. I discussed this in my Koumi/ Taiyama parallels post but Iâll reiterate here that Koushiroâs arguments with Mimi are similar in reasoning to the reasons for Yamatoâs fights with Taichi. Also, Mimi is reprimanded pretty severely for her actions in Ketsui (Determination) by Koushiro. In their argument in Kokuhaku (Confession), neither is made out to be in the right, they are just told to stop fighting by Sora, but it is very much up to the interpretations of the fans to decide who is right and who is wrong. Also, regarding SkullGreymon, Iâve only ever seen canon bring this up twice since it happened in 01. Once was when Taichi was having doubts in 02 when Agumon was captured by Ken, and this was not the creators saying âoh look Taichi did something stupid, letâs all remember that he is flawedâ but rather Taichi harping on himself and Yamato punches him to make him snap out of it. I interpret this scene as the creators saying âTaichi should not be blaming himself for what happened 3 years agoâ. The only other time it is brought up is when Sora is talking to Meiko about Meicoomon and it is done as a way to console Meiko, like âTaichi also made a mistake a long time ago but it doesnât make him a bad person and it doesnât make you a bad person eitherâ.
Look at Soraâs body language, she is smiling softly and puts her hands up in a defensive manor. This behavior makes it seem that she is not reprimanding Meiko or Taichi. Furthermore, it comes during a scene wherin Meiko is upset, and blaming herself, and Sora is trying to cheer her up. Again, I think Sora is saying âthese mistakes donât make you a bad person and we are not going to blame you for them or continuously bring them upâ.
Admittedly, I personally want Taichi to mess up in the next movie, but thatâs because Hikari is obviously going to be in trouble and Iâd like to see him react rashly because of this. I donât want to see him make a poor decision that effects the rest of the team, but rather make a decision that is not fully thought through which results in him getting injured, or something minor happening. Again it comes not from me wanting to see Taichi mess up but wanting him to be rash when faced with his sister in danger. Like Ray though, I also really want to see Taichi get injured, but thatâs mainly cause I live for characters I care about being injured, dying or put through misery :P
I hope no one minds me putting in my two cents. Obviously you can disagree with me based on your own experiences within the fandom and your own interpretations of the scenes within the canon.
Goddamn itâs so frustrating to reply on mobile for me, because I tend to write long ass posts and last night I had a huge text I was particularly proud of saved in my drafts.
Not only was that post agreeing with @50cygâ  but it also expanded on how why in my opinion @missjanuaryk remark isnât completely off the mark either. Personally I didnât take the point of wanting to change the series very serious, because I know how these ramblings work; it was the issue of Taichi and him getting some love I tackled up there and that alone.Â
But my internet connection decided to be a dick and never saved my draft. Now Iâm almost without energy and will power to repeat myself ugh⌠(technology can be enfuriating) so forgive me if this doesnât make much sense..
Anyway, one thing I do still have the energy to repeat and say is that sometimes I let my inner Taichi fangirl talk too fondly of him, but there is a reason I connect so much with this character in terms of personality, and letâs be real here.
If you think about it, Taichi has a tendency to run away from people. And I donât mean physically, but emotionally. Yamato has tried to talk to him, some may argue his approach isnât the best, but then you have Hikari trying to talk to him too (sheâs much more gentle) and what was Taichiâs response? Taichi tells her to âGo to sleepâ. XD
Simply put, Taichi doesnât like to be coddled too much, nor does he feel worthy of pity or help. Which is my opinion could be an amazing plot device (hence, my first reaction xD), but again I digress.
Thatâs not all. Another point I want to pass across is that, the core of Taichiâs personality is simply that he is very strongly idealistic. His sense of justice is HUGE.
When it comes to Taichiâs mistakes, it isnât so much that his friends blame him, and when they do itâs not with the purpose of actually and actively rub his mistakes in his face (when op mentioned that, I was thinking more about the Dark Masters arc then Tri I admit), but itâs much more that Taichi takes all the blame by himself as seeing people hurt has a huge impact on him. Simply put, thatâs just the kind of character Taichi is. He hates the thought of people being injured and hurt and thereâs nothing he can do about it.
With that in mind, is it that surprising the smallest accusation has a huge impact on him and his behaviour? Taichi is so naive he takes the blame when something goes wrong, because he feels like he should have done something about it no matter how small. Thatâs how big his conscience is.
In regard to the episode Taichi evolves Agumon to SkullGreymon, there is a scene Koromon apologizes, and Yamato is ready to say that it isnât Koromonâs fault. Heâs ready to blame Taichi instead, but immediately after Yamato starts to speak, Taichi interrupts him to apologize. And when Taichi talks he is already so visibly sorry and feeling guilty and being so freaking miserable in general, hell, Yamato hesitates immediately, he canât even bring up the courage to blame Taichi anymore, in the end Yamato canât even bring himself to say heâs responsible at all!
Putting how much I relate to Taichi and my inner fangirl who wants to hug him aside (lol)⌠if Iâm going to be rational about this⌠maybe Taichi doesnât really need people pitying him because, quite frankly, he does all of that for himself.Â
I donât necessarily want Taichi to be coddled. Iâve always thought Yamato is a vital presence to make him snap out of it and stay focused. Which tri has done amazingly well, goddamn I love this fact beyond reason. ;.;
But think about his strong sense of justice. Combine that with his naivity. Thatâs where the impulsive kid he was at age 11 came from. Then⌠reality started to slap him across the face with bad results, when all Taichi meant was good, and Taichi slowly started to question himself and to not know what to do. He learned the hard way that clinging to strong ideals and morals and yelling about them isnât enough to make him a virtuous guy. Ideals alone are pretty and all but he realised he needs to be realistic and know how to make them practical, real, without hurting others in the process. In the Dark Master arc he learned the world is vastly more complex, and thereâs myriad different ways to tackle the same problem and, like @50cyg said, none of them are wrong, even when incompatible.
Taichi grew up, heâs more responsible, more mature. But thatâs doesnât mean his naivity has gone away, and I believe this is still his problem in tri, the dragon he has to overcome.
I donât care so much about the claims of OOCness anymore because, honestly, thereâs myriad vectors to take into consideration when someone makes a remark like that. I used think it was just US dub fans being forced to look at the original product and rethink their whole opinion on the show, but with time I realised thereâs more to it that just that. Not even fans who have watched the original Japanese dub completely understand what they watched before many rewatches and, hell, only a few selected nerdy people bring themselves to peal the various layers of meaning and grasp how complex the characters are. And not even them always agree on the same subjects LOL Thank goodness because it provides amazing meta to read. :D
But Digimon can be awfully underestimated even among fans, thatâs true. Just because a show is targetting children, just because things donât always make sense right away, it doesnât mean it canât be complex or make sense after a deep analysis. Itâs not the fault of the show if people are prone to judge faster than they give it the benefit of doubt.
Itâs funny actually because it feels like Taichi is going through this exact problem XD Heâs affraid that they are judging too fast and making the wrong decisions by fighting without having solid knowledge of everything thatâs going on.
Argh I had many other points covered in the vanished draft but like I said butâŚ. yeah, maybe they will come to mind later lol

Hello everyone! Itâs my absolute pleasure to announce that this yearâs Digimon OTP week is coming up with an AU centric theme!Â
For any newcomers to the DigiOTPWeek, this is a tumblr event that is designed for fans to indulge themselves with their favorite ships from any and every Digimon season! Itâs a simple event that tries to encourage everyone to create content for their favorite pairings.Â
If you want an excuse to flood the tag with your favorite ship/dynamic, now is your chance! Any kind of pairing is accepted here. OTPs, Rare Pairs, Crack ships, even just family bonds and brotps. So long as itâs a part of the Digimon Series, all is welcome and accepted here!Â
The Digimon OTP Week starts on August 14th and ends on August 28th. Each prompt is deliberately broad so that everyone can interpret it as they see fit. For example, with âProfessions AUâ you can translate that to Tattoo Artist and Florist AU, or with your pairing as office workers, or even a firefighter AU. There are no wrong answers here, so feel free to have fun with it!
Thank you everyone for your continued support and enthusiasm for this event. I hope to see everyone else enjoy this yearâs DigiOTP Week!Â
(For further information such as detailed Rules/FAQ, a full list of Prompts and other information, please check the links on the top of the home page.)Â
How to deal with procrastination
One of the biggest problems for students is procrastination! It takes different forms for everyone but ultimately it stops us all at some point. Since there are several reasons for procrastinating, Iâve put together the five main types and a few ideas on how to deal with it.Â
Youâve got poor work/productivity habits. You leave things until the last minute since you âwork better under pressureâ. You probably think youâll do something after youâve finished something else, and then never do. You get distracted whenever youâre trying to study and will sit waiting to feel motivated but it never comes. For this Iâd suggest:
create a productivity inspiring workspace - find somewhere that you can set up a study space, whether it is an actual office or just a desk. Organise everything that you will need. I have a selection of pens and my few notebooks on the top so I can easily access them. Remove anything that might cause you to be distracted and doesnât need to be in your immediate reach. If youâre got space, put up some motivational pictures. This could be my motivational printables, some quotes or your own pictures. Plants are also proven to boost productivity, so might be worth putting a small one nearby!
create an action list rather than to-dos - write down a few manageable tasks that you need to do and be specific on the steps you should take. Writing the actions they require will help you see what you should be doing to complete something, instead of just the overall task. If youâre able to break it down, you can take actionable steps rather than mentally having to think of each point.
focus on 20-30 minute periods - generally, we lose focus after a while so taking regular breaks can help give you chance to relax and refocus. Apps like Forest allow you to set a timer and will give you off your phone at the same time. Obviously, if youâre being productive, donât suddenly cut that off because it is âtime for a breakâ. Here are some other free alternatives.
remove distractions as best you can - Iâm always distracted by social media so I will use Forest on my phone or time-lapse myself so I canât use my phone. With my MacBook, I have two accounts. One for university and one for everything else. I am not logged into any social media on my uni account so I canât just check it for a minute then end up wasting 20 minutes :â-)
find an accountability partner - pick someone who you can rely on to check on you regularly and see how your tasks are coming along. You can send them your to-do list and then every few hours you can update them with your progress. You wonât want to let them down. Alternatively, you can study with a friend! Tumblr/Instagram is basically my partner!
use the two-minute rule - if something takes less than two minutes, do it. Donât make an excuse, just do it. Tasks that are longer you can either delegate or defer. Here is a simple visualisation of what I mean.
record your progress - doing a simple âdonât break the chainâ in your planner is a great way to see how productive youâre being and therefore get you more motivated to keep it up! The â100 days of productivityâ challenge might be worth doing!
Youâre feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Everything seems to be mounting up and nothing seems doable. You donât know where or how to start. For this Iâd suggest:
ask for help - if youâre feeling like this, it is likely you need some help in some form or another. See if a family member, friend, classmate or teacher (or Google) can help or give you a starting point. Emailing your teacher is a great option if youâre a little nervous about speaking to them in person. Plus you wonât forget what they told you because youâll have a response.
remind yourself that getting started is the first step - you donât need to finish a task in a matter of minutes. Start doing something small. Maybe organise what you need, highlight the important bits of your assessment, or draft an essay plan. The secret to getting ahead is getting started!
divide and conquer - figure out what is the overall task that you need to do and split it into manageable parts. For instance, with an essay, the aim is to write it! Divide it into planning out what you want to write, any references you need, summarising a final draft and then writing each paragraph. By dividing bigger tasks into actionable parts you can reduce the obstacles and get through each part in a more timely manner.
reward yourself - create a system to celebrate completing a selection of tasks. By rewarding your progress youâll build an incentive to work and reinforce productivity (great for your self-discipline!).
learn to forgive yourself - if you have an off day, that is okay! When the stress of your education is getting too much, it is necessary to have time out. Â Remember to come back to it later and try again.
donât over schedule - if youâre feeling pressure from the amount of work and then the added pressure of trying to stick to a time limit, youâre just going to go crazy. Set yourself flexible times to get something done instead of being heavily structured. Give yourself time for a break and the ability to change tasks.
stick with one task - it can be so tempting to multitask but try not to. Try to keep the focus on the what youâre doing until it is done. If you struggle with that, you could write down anything useful that you randomly think about for another task, use a break-time to think about that other task or alternate between subjects/tasks every few hours.
Youâre a perfectionist. You either donât want to start something out of fear you wonât get it right or you can get stuck on the small details. There is a pressure to achieve the unachievable. For this Iâd suggest:
focus on getting started, instead of finishing - it is easy to get overwhelmed thinking about what something is supposed to be like finished if youâre a perfectionist. Take things one step at a time. Itâs also useful to remember the sooner you start, the more time youâll have to perfect it at the end!
make drafts - if youâre overwhelmed, take half an hour to map out your plan of attack. Drafts can take many forms: summaries, scaffolds/outlines, essay plans, post-it notes, etc. I find it much easier to get on with work if I have a bit of a plan.
remember that your perfectionist tendencies arenât actually improving your work or productivity but hindering you - youâre continually setting yourself unrealistic objects and (like me) probably feel let down by yourself if you donât reach them. Be realistic and focus on getting it done!
accept mistakes - youâve written something wrong, donât panic! Cross it out with a single line and move on. Things happen and you have to accept it. You canât rip up the page every time you do something wrong, even if it is so tempting.
put things in perspective - is what youâre beating yourself up about right now going to mean anything in a week, a month, a year? Be honest if it isnât, is it really worth putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.
praise yourself through the process - try not to criticise yourself but recognise your progress.
donât compare yourself - this is very hard not to do but remember we are all different. Just because âyouâre not as goodâ or donât understand something as easily as others, it doesnât mean youâre any less! Everyone was a beginner once and we all learn at different paces. Work to your strengths!
You want to do something else. You find whatever youâre doing boring. You want it to be over with but donât want to get started. The ultimate catch 22, right? For this Iâd suggest:
remember that putting it off isnât going to make it go away - if you leave it too long youâll end up getting more stressed about it. Best to get it over with.
make a plan from the get-go - once you know something is coming up (e.g. a test, an assessment, etc) make notes on it! That could be questions, annotations, potential topics, citations, etc. By making the effort to spend time reading through, youâll save your future self some stress. Especially if itâs a topic you have forgotten. That way your notes act as a reminder so you can get started.
set a finish time with a reward - tell yourself that if you finish something by a certain time and then you can do something else. Use your self-discipline to not go back on this. Set a realistic time and try to get it complete before. If you can think that youâre doing something fun once it is completed, youâll be more motivated to get it done.
make a structure - for note-taking, it can be overwhelming looking at a textbook and thinking what youâre going to write out. Make a note-taking layout/colour code that works for you and that subject. Mine is here - it just gives me an idea of how Iâd lay everything instead of going in with no action plan.
try to make it fun - this could be using YouTube to learn or starting a study group. Use different methods for memorising information such as flashcards, mindmaps or study guides (like question/answer).
make the effort to refocus - if youâre finding something boring and youâre unfocused, walk away for 5 minutes, get a drink and come back. If youâre really struggling, change topics for a while. Find a point where you can finish and start doing something else that is productive.
listen to some music - generally, music without lyrics are best for focusing. Spotify has a great playlist for studying called âfocusâ. However, I find my regular music good for getting me a little more motivated and awake. I also like writing essays to music because I weirdly sort of type in the same rhythm. Funny study hack Iâve found that works for me haha!
write your thoughts down - Another thing Iâve been trying is externalising my thoughts. If I get distracted by something or have a âgosh, I need to remember thatâ moment, I will write it down. By getting it out my brain and onto a bit of paper, I no longer have to think about it and can continue.Â
You have no motivation. Often we feel that motivation is the only thing you need to get on with something, but this isnât totally true. You need a mix of motivation and discipline. As the saying goes:Â âmotivation may get you started, but discipline keeps you goingâ. To build your motivation, Iâd suggest:
have a mass organise - usually when Iâm feeling unmotivated, Iâll clear out my desk and sort out my computer. This involves throwing out stationery that doesnât work or scrap paper. I usually make piles of spare stationery and will re-organise my desk drawers. For my computer, I will pull out all my files to my desktop then start working through them. Iâll delete duplicates, rename files properly, and put them in the right place.
find some new stationery - weirdly buying stationery is one of those things that instantly makes you want to be productive. Head to the shops and spend a little something on a new pen, highlighter or notebook!
film yourself - studying generally doesnât give us any instant gratification which can make it feel like a drag. By filming yourself working you can get a little video at the end which shows your progress. I love watching time-lapses of myself because you see all the work you did super quickly. It also means Iâm not touching my phone!
set yourself some goals - write down a few things you want to achieve, in the short or long term. Put it somewhere that youâll be reminded about it! By externalising your goals, youâre more likely to make the effort to achieve it.
check/make a studygram and studyblr - this is one of most motivating this Iâve done. Having social media dedicated to studying has helped not only improve my work ethic but my whole attitude towards education. Getting involved in the community is a great motivator. Here is a post on how to set up a studyblr.
I hope this post gives you just a few ideas on how to tackle procrastination! If youâve got any tips youâd like to share, please message me! x
