There is a serious issue that tackles many pure souls in this world. Something that isnât really talked about enough. That is: our thoughts about the detrimental things we quit. Take porn for example, if you quit masturbating and come clean after a long period of addiction, some ideas provoke our minds, and this is my main point here, that me quitting seems infinite, so maybe I shouldnât. Other thoughts of the same kin are when, say if youâre a believer, goes as follows: âAm I supposed to quit porn and masturbation for god knows how long until I get married? This seems so hard, almost impossible.â And as the days pass by it seeps more and more into your mind incrementally getting weaker and irresistible. The thoughts grow stronger every single day until it penetrates through your mind to the point that whatever scolding youâd do to yourself wonât stop it from committing the sin. For this you have to sit down by yourself for at least 30 minutes no distractions whatsoever - not even electronics, and this method has always worked for me when Iâd try to solve many lingering issues. You can grab a paper and a pen or just stay content with your thoughts until eventually you come to a solution to this issue youâre having. And if one day it feels like itâs gonna happen, move away from the place youâre currently in and do the 30 minute contemplation method.
This works on anything other than addiction; we are all humans. After all, we make mistakes and indulge ourselves in things that donât define our nature. Trust me people can change so swiftly you. You just have to stay Constant.
