a few days ago someone told me that i was "draining the amazon rainforest" trying to get chatgpt to draw my fursona. which i thought was pretty dumb because i actually live within walking distance of the amazon river and that isnt whats happening. in fact we do not have to worry about not having enough water here in the rainforest because it is a rainforest. and the region is actually threatened by rising water levels not falling one. and the modern history of the region starts with something called the "rubber holocaust" which is when yanks decided to come here to steal rubber to build their car industry. so i thought it was pretty stupid. that a yank was trying to blame me for all that

the point is, if there were actual industry here that would actually be less polluting than this insane level of straightforwardly colonial dependance on export of raw materials and import of industrial products which is the actual status quo here. this forest is not an untouched nature zone land-without-a-people for yankee colonisers to use in their reactionary primitivist arguments. it is a mess that needs modern economic management as much as anywhere on earth
