I am attending the University of Arizona this fall 2020 semester. When choosing my classes, I wanted to take something culturally poignant. I was not raised extremely religious, but intrinsically understood the value a religious community can provide. Hense #AFAS160A2Fall. Black humans have been used and abused by every culture, including their own. Though nothing is more obvious to me than a white guy with a gun, or a knee and a dead black man lying on the ground as a systematic problem with the powers at play. My Professor, PH.D. Erika Gault has chosen to strike today as part of #ScholarStrike in support of #BlackLivesMatter. My solution as a white millennial woman is to get educated on the experiences and the statistical facts of my black sisters' and brothers' lives.
