What's your comfort game?
Feed your dashboard by answering my question, blogger.
stardew valley was the first game that came to mind but, tbh, that's largely memetic influences talking.
i have different comfort games for every console, i think, and the kingdom hearts games were my primary reason for getting at least two of those consoles.
as for PC and mobile..?
i might not have my own PC atm but i've been PC gaming for as long as i can remember (no srsly: one of my earliest memories is of me typing my name before i could actually write it).
it would be cool if i could say that my comfort game was diablo ii or age of mythology, both games being core childhood memories, but that's less about the games and more about who i was backseat gaming them for.
maybe the answer is oldschool dofus or oldschool runescape? i used to periodically replay their f2p content under new accounts. yet the frustrations of being paywalled out from playing them fully couldn't quite make up for how comforting i found their artstyles and atmosphere.
i think my "latest" comfort games, back when i still had access to them, were... unpacking or crypt of the necrodancer, on PC, and hades on PS4? despite primarily being an RPGamer, i take my stort immersion too seriously to find RPGs at all calming.
(i don't really have a comfort game on mobile 'cause mobile games trigger my trust issues lol)
