the show doesnt stop when the lights go off

i watched a video that was explaining different native american genders, which included a long explanation of two-spirit. I have heard of two-spirit before and knew what it meant, but i havent heard about it directly from a native american before, or in such depth. And as i was listening i was just like. Struck with this joy that other cultures recognize the existence of other genders besides men and women and that in their cultures, these other genders are seen as important and valued rather than weird or wrong. It made me really happy and i just kept thinking about how beautiful their concept of genders was. And it made me feel kind of seen, bc even though im not native american, its so easy in this world with so much european influence to feel like my gender/lack thereof isnt respected or acknowledged, and to know that there are cultures in the world who see other genders besides man and woman as amazing and wonderful things made me feel so hopeful.
