Grave Places

Those are great questions and thanks for asking. I’ve always found cemeteries and graveyards to be places of solace and happiness for me. My family has a tradition that is widespread in our ancestral community called Decoration Day which is really how I came to appreciate the importance of these places. As for my favorite cemetery, it’s really difficult to say. My family’s cemetery always holds a dear place in my heart. Riverside, the cemetery near my home, is where I relax and spend the most time wandering. But, the cemetery that has made the biggest impact on me is probably Salem’s Old Burying Point. It was the first cemetery that I photographed and the history that lies in those tombstones is just fascinating.
