Null works on expectation. They don't have LOYALTY that is their OWN.
Jamato knows this. Spoke does not. That is a common theme here.
When Jamato lost Null, he didn't fight it. He cursed himself for his failure, yet he never directly told Null that he has done so much for them. He didn't intertwine himself with them like Spoke has.
Jamato didnt need Null like Spoke feels he needs them. Spoke thinks he's actually weaving some form of loyalty into them, and to a certain extent believe that they need him.
And again, Spoke isn't WRONG. Null needs him to get out of the End, but after that? Like Jamato, JAMATO asked, what's at the end of this? Spoke, what more can you offer Null? You won't be using them as an ally, you will be using them for yourself.
He is making everyone believe he is so deeply evil, he is using that MASK to portray something he really isn't. He doesn't even realize it.
Once the Null is out of the end, I really think that they will turn on Spoke. I think that he will fall just like Jamato, and his mask will crack. The only difference is that Spoke made a connection with Null.
Jamato understood how they work. He KNEW that as soon as that totem got handed over, he was done. They were turning. He was well the fuck aware that he could do nothing to keep the Null on his side.
Because the Null don't HAVE a side. It's me myself and I for them.
I think it'll get to a point where Underscore will hold the totem. I really do not think there is a reality where Spoke keeps the Null. I saw someone talking about how he is making everyone hate him so that they will have very little, if any, to fall once his feels he has to kill someone like Mapicc?

Null will either see Spoke as too weak, or
They protect the totem that holds all of their loves. Spoke has already threatened to pop it if they didn't MOVE FASTER aka something VERY minor. If they see Spoke as a danger to the totem? I think they will overthrow. I think Spoke could become the fallen leader where his life hinges on if his rescuers think they should save him.
It's just, gahhhhhh, Jamato absolutely knows what's going to happen to Spoke. He may not recognize him, but he KNOWS. He DOES recognize that power hungry fervor that he has only seen once.

Because this IS the new Mafia. None of them care for the leader, but if they don't they die. Some sycophants exist, and they all surround Spoke. The inflate his ego so much that he can't see who are waiting on the moment they can get the totem away from him.
A leader may control a hivemind, but that doesn't mean a hivemind wants to be under that leader.
