Billy is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I can sure as hell back it up.
Lemme take this to Imperialfire.
In a Flame vid, we got bits of direct conversation between Billy, Flame, and Wemmbu. There are MASSIVE similarities and that's what I wanna harp on rn.
If you're new to my little soapbox, I did a fullll yap on Flame and Wemmbu being both literally and figuratively chained by their best friends in their positions.
This relates here, because Billy points out to both of them that if only they left their bsfs then they could do whatever they wanted.
Now, this first intrigued me because why would Billy give a shit? Why would he genuinely try to (in his own way) help these "randos"? He could've just stayed silent, let them be controlled while he basically has free rein, no?
Well no. Billy did speak up, he pointed it out to Wemmbu in Streampunk and he brought it up to Flame on the airship. This to me comes purely from that mentor side of him.
Just to rehash, Billy mentored and trained Theo. To my understanding they weren't... partners. They weren't brotherly, and if they were, it was a toxic older brother type thing.
Billy recognizes that Flame and Wemmbu are both held back, and he sees that without their best friends, they can do so much more. They can BE so much more. He probably has a twinge of jealously and even backstory that influences this.
Everyone knows Wemmbu and Flame. From their seperate titles, to being apart of huge wars and in organizations. Flame was former Mafia, Combat Master on the way to Combat Grandmaster. He helped defeat and was a MAJOR part of the takedown of Law, and is also known as the strongest on the server by a LOT of people.
Wemmbu is THE elytra macer. He is THE orbital strike user, he is the most powerful. Sure he wasn't in the Mafia, but he was brought out in front of all these players in Law, he fought over and over to unseat Flame, he FAKED HIS DEATH.
They both did these and so much more, and they're so notorious, yet they both have one *constant* weakpoint and that is their best friends.
Billy was hired by Cindercrest. He is being paid to do this, and while he may (not) fully agree with Saps, he's still mostly there for the pay. He doesn't lose anything trying to get Flame and Wemmbu to use their full potential, because as long as he makes it out alive and gets paid, he's chilling.
Idk i honestly just found it interesting how he told the same thing to both Wemmbu and Flame, and just the WAY he said it. I think he respects them as fellow fighters, and people who can hold their own. People who earn his respect don't do so lightly, and that's just a minor detail i reallllly enjoyed
