One thing I liked about our English class was how inclusive it was. I thought it was nice that our class was discussion-based. The overall organization was well thought out, and everything was easy to follow. One thing I think could be improved is the organization of classwork. I thought this seemed to be a little confusing at times and hard to follow.

I can use my writing process for other projects by following the same steps. I can use the outlines for basically all projects, such as history papers or UNI presentations. I have used my writing process for history this past week. I researched my documents and got solid information out, which I then used as evidence later on in my essay.

I think the rhetorical analysis essay was the most challenging part of this semester. I have never really been a good writer and always hated to write. I learn that I needed to spend a lot more time organizing my thoughts. I think my writing improved this semester a lot. I now take my time and start my essays a lot earlier than they are due. This gives me more time to edit and write a solid body of work. 

My article was pro-censorship of the media. The article wants the government to step in and censor certain media post or streams. I disagree with that because of how massive the tech world is. Limiting peoples ideas and thoughts will have a terrible impact on the information that people will obtain.  

Evaluating sources is very important to understanding where the source is coming from. having a general idea of the bias the article may contain is vital to understanding. When you start to evaluate source you start to think critically and have doubts about every online source. This is very good and is necessary for understanding online sources.

A counterargument for this article would simply be, "why should the government be given more power?" Someone could argue that the government already has much power, and social media could potentially expand into a dictatorship situation. 

I found this image on google. The primary purpose of the image is to show how our world is impacted by technology. The targeted audience is everyone with some form of technology. I think pathos is the primary rhetorical appeal because it has a little bit of humor. The image emphasizes how everyone is on some form of device, even if we are outside.

The article "Social media Companies Should Self Regulate. Now" did not have any quotes. I realized this hurts the article's ability to persuade the audience. I must admit that having a quote about self-regulation in social media would be very hard to do. This article is very specific and finding people or papers to quote is a challenge. However, not having a quote reduced the efficiency of the article to persuade the audience.

The most helpful thing a person can do when looking over my paper is to be honest. I think that it helps when someone can tell me how they feel about the paper. I am more likely to trust this person and fix my errors. On the other hand, I think the worst thing anyone can do when revising my paper lie to make me feel better. If they give me feedback based on what they think I would enjoy, I can't get any better.

The article that I read this past week had an extreme sense of pathos. An example the author used was the January 6th insurrection. Many people across the country feel very strongly toward this event. The article used logos when statistics came out about how many people use social media platforms.

When I hear the word “rhetoric,” it definitely gives a negative connotation. The term has a dark and negative feel to it. However, Rhetorical analysis can be instrumental when dissecting a body of text. It is constructive for readers because they can get a deeper meaning of the text.
