I liked the times when we learned about grammar and how to write a rhetorical essay.
I think the home page for the class on canvas could be better organized. It was kind of hard to navigate through it all.

I think the rhetorical analysis essay was the most challenging part of this semester. I have never really been a good writer and always hated to write. I learn that I needed to spend a lot more time organizing my thoughts. I think my writing improved this semester a lot. I now take my time and start my essays a lot earlier than they are due. This gives me more time to edit and write a solid body of work.Â
I definitely agree with this as I have difficulty focusing on larger projects that take more time for me to complete. Starting earlier and slowing chipping away at something is the smarter way.
#13 translating my writing process
I really think that my writing process will pay off with future career opportunities such as a full time job. The use of ethos, pathos, or logos pays a much larger role than we might imagine and can influence the way words affect us. While I use a writing process in future classes as well it will help my GPA and further help me excel in college.

The assignment most challenging was the rhetorical analysis because it took multiple tries and I am brand new to rhetorical analysis.
My writing has improved I believe a strong amount, although I believe I need to put in more effort to make that happen especially in terms of grammar.

The article âSocial media Companies Should Self Regulate. Nowâ did not have any quotes. I realized this hurts the articleâs ability to persuade the audience. I must admit that having a quote about self-regulation in social media would be very hard to do. This article is very specific and finding people or papers to quote is a challenge. However, not having a quote reduced the efficiency of the article to persuade the audience.
If a article does not have any quotes then the author just wasted their time I feel like. Especially when you are trying to persuade the reader and get a point across. When I do not include quotes and evidence in my writing I feel like the reader does not care about what they are reading.Â

I found this image on google. The primary purpose of the image is to show how our world is impacted by technology. The targeted audience is everyone with some form of technology. I think pathos is the primary rhetorical appeal because it has a little bit of humor. The image emphasizes how everyone is on some form of device, even if we are outside.
I feel as if our generation and kids now have been hurt in terms of technology. We are always glued to our phones and what not. Kids are not getting exercise and the survival skills by being on our phone. Although, this is just something the world will have to adapt to. There is always a way we can turn technology into something good.

Social media should not be censored. social media connects people world wide, it is the main source of information, and the platforms were made to let people express their ideas.Â
My article was pro-censorship of the media. The article wants the government to step in and censor certain media post or streams. I disagree with that because of how massive the tech world is. Limiting peoples ideas and thoughts will have a terrible impact on the information that people will obtain. Â
I completely agree, if we are in the land of the free then we should actually have full freedom. Social media should be monitored for kids and preventing hackers, but never to silence someone regardless of what they are saying.Â
#7 quotes
In the article âWho Will Pay for the Future if Not the Robots?â by Matt Simon, there are a multitude quotes from reputable sources such as scientists and people with high knowledge of capitalism. These quotes not only back up the thesis of the article, but persuade the reader. While I donât agree with the thesis of the article I do understand what the opposing side is arguing. In general, without quotes and evidence a article is almost never reputable until it is supplied with evidence.
#4 Rhetorical analysis
When I was younger when I heard of rhetoric it was applied to describe how someone was describing something or just someoneâs way of writing or talking. I thought of it as someoneâs style. Now as I have done a rhetorical analysis, I have seen how important rhetoric is in describing and persuading someone to believe the same way I believe. I feel a rhetorical analysis can be applied to anything in life.
#11 Primary claim/ supporting claims
My primary claim was âtechnology can get rid of jobs, but actually replaces them in larger quantitiesâ. Many say technology is getting rid of jobs but wont mention the millions of new jobs that arise from it. For example, Apple has over 3 million careers as of right now. Coal mining jobs have decreased, but computer science jobs have increased by the millions! You get it now?

The main argument in âDonât Blame the Eaterâ is that the health effects that fast food has on its consumers is the responsibility of the fast-food chains themselves. The key evidence was the use of statistics that backed the idea that the overall health of the public has worsened since the increase consumption of fast-food. There was also evidence used to show how restaurants donât always show the accurate nutrition facts for their food/ products. I think there could be additional evidence about how health has been impacted. The evidence included in the text already was about the increase of Type 2 diabetes and cases that were obesity related. I thought it was interesting that the writer talked about how deceiving nutrition labels can be and how some places donât always provide the whole truth. I think a counterargument for the increase in diabetes cases due to obesity or type 2 diabetes could be from additional or other factors, not just the over consumption of fast-food.
I personally love fast food, but it definitely has contributed at least 10% to the reason for bad health in America. Something needs to change.

Evaluating sources is very important to understanding where the source is coming from. having a general idea of the bias the article may contain is vital to understanding. When you start to evaluate source you start to think critically and have doubts about every online source. This is very good and is necessary for understanding online sources.
I completely agree about the critical thinking that goes into evaluating a source especially when the quality of your work would depend your sources.
#10 SOURCES
When your using any kind of source it is always important to figure out what your using. Sources can either be trustworthy and give you factual information or they can have a bad reputation and have very false info. Knowing this will allow you think before believing and using a sources info. Always filter out your sources before you choose.
Robot Tax
In the article I read, the thesis stated that technology is taking over our jobs and hurting the economy. It is fairly simple and cant be unproven because when you look at job 20 years ago and then compare them to today, they might have been completely replaced by computers. That means less jobs and less income tax being given to the government. There was no solution mentioned but their was a way to âcushionâ the harmful effects known as a robot tax. This would just tax companies for the use of technology. The only counter argument I could think of is new jobs that will arise from the growth in technology through new discoveries. For example, computer programming. Humans will always remain the root of the growth in technology.
Technology War
I found this photo on google images when I searched technology taking over the world. I used this because it conveys an image of a man being overruled by new technology and how it binds him down. It represents todays world in which technology is slowly overtaking our lives and most of the things we do today revolve around technology. However, others believe technology is helping us, but with new technology arises more issues which humans are yet too solve, For example, the economy and the effect Artificial Intelligence is having on our jobs. Humans are losing jobs because they are not simply needed anymore. It uses pathos because it reflects the pain the man is in (the human race) and how it is suffering due to technology. I see contrast by seeing the telephones vs the man by the number of phones vs 1 man. The technology greatly outnumbers the 1 man and I think that is a great example of what will happen soon.

I always enjoyed when someone else would simply just read it out loud and we can both catch the mistakes. I believe revising by myself is ok, but having someone else is the key to correcting what needs to be fixed. The only thing I do not enjoy is when someone tries change the plot of my story or completely redirect my papers plot.
Robots taking over the economy #5
"Who Will Pay for the Future if Not Robots? (Links to an external site.)" by Matt Simon
In this articles they used ethos, pathos, and logos. The author really expressed passion in the article for the the future of America, which really expressed ethos. In logos there was important facts that backed up the robots taking over the economy. Pathos was used when the author inflicted fear through this potential disaster. #thenewfuture
