There aren’t many, in regards to his personal aspirations. He does all he can to keep goals that are Cybertron-centric at the forefront of his thoughts, even when it is at his own detriment.

For the few things he has ever wanted for himself, the greatest dream that he has had to set aside was becoming a detective—of the Nick Valentine variety. (I personally think he’d be somewhere on the spectrum between Nick and Columbo, with maybe a smattering of Mulder thrown in) As an Enforcer, he would grow frustrated at just how many cases were seen as unsolvable, or had been dropped because they seemed too challenging. It left people without answers regarding their loved ones, causing further harm to the populous at large.

Imagine it: digging up cold cases, finding clues that had been ignored for centuries, bringing justice to someone once forgotten. Or, someone down on their luck comes in needing help finding a dear friend, or the final piece of data they need to save the town dance hall from some real estate tycoon. He dreamed of being the one to solve these problems and cases and help others find their joy or have their little victories.

Sure, it was a rather rose-tinted dream within a young mech who had not yet taken the Matrix, but solving problems and working with people one-on-one to bring them peace was what he believed his spark wanted.

Bzzz. Bzzz. Nothing.

Optimus presses the button again—Synthetic, mid-brew, with as much sweetening mercury as the system will allow before paging Red Alert for emergency intervention. Stares at it, golden optics straining. Two hours of recharge was plenty, he lies to himself, so long as he got some damned fuel. He chomps down on a stale rust stick. Press. Press press PRESS.

Bzzz. Bzzz. Still nothing.

That could mean absolutely anything, but the only message that he could glean was this: the universe was collapsing, and he was going to waste away to nothing. Anguish. Despair. He was built to suffer under the great weight of existence itself. Why was Primus without mercy? Why give such terrible battles to His most sleepy of disciples?

Hi yeah wow it has been… 8 years since I last did RP here? Many things have changed and idek where to start with all that.

Big career growth in my job after hopping around a bit. Started dating. Got engaged. Moved in with my fiancée. Adopted a Kitty Kitty. So many road trips I LOVE DRIVING AND GOING PLACES. Making friends offline. Medical issues. Therapy and meds. Got a car that doesn’t break down if you look at a photo of it. New hobbies that don’t have me glued to the computer.

Improved a good bit with art along the way, too. So that’s been nice. (I occasionally post it on @doruumon tho not recently. Recovering from above medical issues and only just really getting back into drawing so I need to find a better setup for that)

Oh and I became much more ill about this big Doofus, that did happen. I love him. I wrote a fic a couple of years ago where I mentally and emotionally tortured him.

Lots of ups and downs but right now I can’t imagine being in a happier place. Except maybe if that place has an occipital nerve that isn’t being crushed (pls stretch and have good posture friends)? That would be cool af. I can imagine that.

Idk if I’ll be around here much outside of like, goofs and such, let alone who all is around these days, but hey hi I’m alive and I’ve never been better. Thanks to the anon who dropped a weird ask in my inbox.

If this is a joke about him sucking the joy out of the room when he walks in, then Rodimus has already told it at least seventeen times this decacycle.

[ c. ] Blue optics dimmed, softening around the edges as Optimus Prime stepped away from his terminal. Megatron inclined his helm in silent thanks, moving closer in a few short steps. His arms, still crossed over his chassis, falling to rest at his sides instead. “I thought you’d appreciate the term more than me simply stating that I am concerned.” 

He shook his helm, snorted in amusement and then attempted to meet Optimus’ gaze. Megatron had the ability to grow intensely fond of others in a short time. Meeting this kindly-inclined alternate, so wonderfully different from his nemesis, sparked a similar attachment. A desire to see Optimus thrive.

“There are two ways to warp your perception of someone. By demeaning them, considering them your lesser, or by placing them upon a pedestal and making them untouchable. I would rather not lose touch with the one Prime I actually like.” Megatron’s frame slotted into place beside the other’s, his wings unfurling to carefully wrap around them both. “Behold: a hug! And Primus didn’t even strike us down for it.”

{☀️} ;; There was humor to be found in this Megatron’s bluntness; it was familiar in a way that Optimus felt to be comforting, somehow, just as... no. “Concern is one thing, but when it’s misplaced, well... alright. You’re right. Perhaps I’ve been holding myself hostage in here, as more than one of my associates has called it, but... sure. I’ll take the thought of you actively considering my well-being over a vague thought any day.”

     Mirth spread through the Prime’s field as he stepped forward, catching the flier’s gaze almost as soon as those piercing blue optics settled upon him. They held a depth that so few others could, with his soul pouring forth through every word and gleam. Never once had he felt negatively intimidated by this light-bound alternate of the mech he had sworn his life to destroying--as a matter of fact, there had only ever been comfort found in his presence, a delightful air that seemed to set his own mind and spark at ease. This Megatron was, in the simplest of terms, a beacon of happiness.

     How did he ever get so attached to a dark and dismal fool like his tainted Optimus Prime?

{☀️} ;; The commline in his office did not flash very often; it was used as a secure channel, only to be accessed by the most highly-ranked officers: himself, Jetfire, and Ultra Magnus among them. And so, to see it signalling almost as soon as he had returned from his year-long journey, it was almost startling to Optimus. Who would be calling this line, expecting an answer? And how?

     Yes, it had indeed been over an Earth year since it all ended, hadn’t it? Since the blasters had turned from Autobot and Decepticon to fire upon the god of Chaos and Entropy itself, who had mocked the leaders of the factions until they realized his only weakness: faith. And it had been that same faith and hope that had pushed Galvatron into the depths of Unicron’s soul, fearful of change and the future ahead, driving the Prime off into the furthest reaches of the cosmos, searching, wondering:

     [ What could I have done to fix this? ]

{☀️} ;; «I would hardly call someone that has been touched by the Matrix a “Pseudo Prime,” anonymous: that is dismissive of their strengths, capabilities, and any other factors that may have drawn Primus to their sparks. From personal experience, I find Rodimus in particular to be incredibly capable and exceeding competent in his work. Just because we have disagreements doesn’t mean I do not recognize that.»
