Iβll make a confession: Iβm terrible at listening. Especially during lectures. I can sit through an entire lecture and and come out of it not being able to recollect a single sentence I wrote. Sometimes mid-lecture a friend will ask me to clarify something and I wonβt even know the general topic theyβre asking about. Honestly, the only reason I even go to lectures is to force myself to write the lecture notes (because otherwise they wonβt be written). What this means is, during the Christmas holidays, I get to enjoy spending two days writing all my lecture notes again. But, within the next two days after that, I am generally able to do most of a past paper. Iβm not really sure what my point is - I donβt recommend doing this (I wish I could listen in lectures - it would save a lot of time over the holidays). I guess maybe Iβm trying to say that even if youβre a mess like me, there is some hope at the end of the tunnel that - with some effort and resilience - you can end up being not so much of a mess. π€·π½ββοΈ

29. 05 || dom Finals are exhausting me little by little
Spent my first session of the day making these flashcards with key poetry quotes on for my English exam. Iβm hoping that by colour association and ordered time periods Iβll remember them better! (Also, to the few people that asked- this is how I usually remember quotes for closed book exams!)

Job hunt update
My interview today went badly. The only way he could show less interest is if he fell asleep midway through.
I can safely assume I was rejected. The only thing he asked me was why I was applying for this job when I have an engineering degree, then he went on a tirade about how they are hiring people for this job because engineers are sloppy at these duties. So in his mind, my engineering degree meant I would be TERRIBLE at this job. He didn't ask me anything else, nothing about skills or experience, just ran through the job details like it was a script and said bye. Less than 10 minutes total.
If I get desperate then I'm changing the degree on my resume to something common and inoffensive.
