The Forest Brothers were a Partisan group during WW2. When Soviets invaded the Baltic States, those that did not want to get taken to work camps/prisons in Siberia fled to the Forests where they formed a guerrilla army. The forest Brothers consisted of Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians. They carried at least one grenade reserved for themselves, if they were caught by the Soviets they would blow themselves up to not be taken as prisoner.
