there was a part of sam, just a small one, that thought maybe now dean was dead, castiel would become a stranger to them. he knew he and his brother always shared a more profound bound than they ever had, but the fact that cas still stopped by to check in with them, meant a lot to sam. cas, meant a lot to sam. he was the only brother he had left now. parker loved him, and gen loved to teach him stupid phrases. parker was walking know, and running his father raggid. he felt like he was constantly trying to stop her from pulling something off the wall, or disorganising his entire bookshelf. right now, she was pulling on the belt of cas’ trench coat, determined to get a hold of it. “parker, no. leave uncle cas alone.” he said, picking her up and placing her on his hip. “i wish you’d stop letting gen teach you phrases like that. she shouldn’t even be saying them.” he said to cas, shaking his head with a smirk on his lips.

Time was so strange these days? With a memory like Castiel’s and the centuries of years he had on him, he remembers it all and yet, his most prominent memories had always been with the Winchester’s. And though it had been years since he’d met them, he remembers it all like it was yesterday. And now here they were. Who’d of thought? The Castiel from back then had one job and one job only, his mission. To follow his orders. And here he is making decisions for himself. Preaching free will and choice to his fellow brethren. All because he learnt it from two hunters who had changed his life for the better. His family. It’s nothing short of amazement what he could learn from them and what he continued to learn from them. And additions to that too. Gen. Parker. Adrian. Where life took them now. Sam’s a father now and Cas would make sure his daughter, and his niece, would have the best possible life. So for Cas to see Parker now walking was refreshing because to him, it was just yesterday. Just yesterday she was born. Just yesterday he found out Gen was pregnant. Just yesterday he’d meet Gen who used to be a demon. Just yesterday he’d been calling Sam ‘the boy with demon blood’ and just yesterday he’d raised Dean from perdition from his place in Hell. It was all just yesterday and he smiled because today was the present; a gift that kept on giving. He laughs Parker messes with his. “No, it’s fine.” He didn’t get as much time as he wanted with them so would never take these moments for granted. He’s working on it. “The human language is constantly evolving with the times, and as leader of Heaven now, I have to keep updated.” It was strange to say he lead Heaven. Not long ago, he was finished with the angels. With how the treated him like a traitor and wanted to hunt him down like a criminal but things changed and just as he changed, so did some of the angels thinking. “You’d be surprised. Gen’s a remarkable tutor.” The angel winks playfully at Sam before his attention heads solely on Parker. “What do you think, Parker? Do you think dad should update his vocabulary?” And fortunately for Cas, he did speak baby/toddler.

VERSE 1: (post!iotdrpg) This verse is simply Castiel post the group. Castiel is basically heavens first elected president. He spends a lot of time between Mystic Falls as their resident angel every now and then but he mainly fights for angel rights in exploring their free will whilst maintaining his relationships in town to the best of his ability. He’s very tired but he’s at least happy with what Heaven is becoming now.

VERSE 2: (godstiel!verse)  Castiel got a little out of control in his candidacy race to becoming the leader of Heaven. In such attempts, he stole souls from Hell and absorbed them to become even more powerful. It drove him a little crazy and whilst growing in power, angels become too weak to stop him. He’s King of Heaven and Hell. He controls both. He’s a self-proclaimed New God. 

VERSE 3: (human!castiel) In this verse, when the archangel Samael took Castiel’s grace, he never got it back when he was defeated. Instead, Naomi kept in as a means to punish him. He’s continuing to adapt to human life and his understanding of humanity is constantly improving.
