The Bielski Partisans
One of the most prominent Jewish resistance groups, the Bielski Partisans, founded by the Bielski brothers Tuvia, Asael, Zus and Aron, was a partisan group operational in Belarus between 1942 and 1944. At the time of their liberation in 1944, the group was made up of 1,230 people, 70% of which were women, children and elderly people who would have otherwise died under Hitler's Nazi regime.
