We talk about abusers and victims as “he or she,” ignoring statistics that show that it’s overwhelmingly male-on-female. When we talk about the issue, we try to make sure we aren’t hurting men’s feelings with too much truth-telling. Has this broadened and strengthened our movement? No, not a bit. The domestic violence movement is far weaker than it was twenty years ago, not stronger. Many, many of the gains that we made are now being stripped away, more every year. (Women’s rights in general are being stripped away in our times, as you have most likely noticed.)”

“Don’t be apologetic about making women your agenda. Don’t apologize for putting women’s needs and rights front and center. When someone tells you that you should be talking about male victims too, I encourage you to respond, “There are hundreds of issues in this world that need to be addressed. Are you saying that I can’t address what happens to women unless I also address every other wrong that happens in the world? Why isn’t it okay to make women my focus?””

Okay my last post got 0 traction or donations, so here we go again.

I’m a 2-spirit indigenous lesbian and survival sex worker, who is severely physically disabled, immunocompromised, and neurodivergent. I had a “ministroke” only twoish weeks ago, likely from stress, and just found out I have genetic heart disease.

My phones touch screen is broken, my drawing tablet doesn’t connect anymore, I owe 125 in phone bills, and am over 2k in debt due to needing to escape a transphobic roommate (debt is from the first months rent, getting basic furniture and food staples, and paying a damage deposit plus covering my roommates pet deposit (they have been paying me back, but have limited income too.)

Without my phone or drawing tablet I have no additional income sources outside of a meager disability pension (that barely covers my rent and food bills), so those are my priorities right now. If I pay my phone bill off I can upgrade to a new model (I need a decent camera for camming), and hopefully I can start making income again for my other bills.

Hoping to raise 400 for the phone bill, upgrade fees, and new tablet. Extra donations will go towards my active debt.
