okay well since this is becoming a thing. if you think saying “being otherkin is not a voluntary experience” is somehow a harmful or untrue statement, block me and don’t use my terms!

I’m sorry but I experience *extreme* dysphoria over my kintype. Being kin is NOT a voluntary experience. Make your own goddamn terms for your little dress up play games. Stop appropriating terms that are for otherkin who experience serious dysphoria over their kintype.

Don't dictate who gets to be otherkin. People finally get to put a word to what they've been experiencing and to call it a disorder is ludicrous. You do have mentally ill otherkin who's identity "may" be caused by their illness but there's also spiritual beliefs, people who just look at their kintype and get a sense that it's them, coping mechanism for trauma. To say you are only otherkin because you are mentally unwell is ignorant and I hope you actually explore the community to get educated soon, you child.
