FIRST TIME TELLING YOU 'I LOVE YOU', jason todd ËËË
It had been almost a month since you'd last heard from Jason.
You had not received a single message. Not from his nor from any unknown number, and not a single call from one of his thousand burner phones.
You shouldn't be surprised, really. You should have seen this coming, and that made the pressure in your chest feel even heavier.
Sitting in your drafty apartment, with the stale scent of burnt coffee lingering in the air, your eyes drifted over the same page of the book in your lap for what felt like the hundredth time. You werenât taking in any of it. Your mind kept wandering back to him, and you had already lost count of the times you'd restarted the paragraph. Heâs already read this one, you thought.
He was not deadâat the very least, of that you were positiveâyou had asked Dick (in a totally not mildly desperate phone call), and he had reassured you that if something had happened to Red Hood, they'd for sure know. He had explained that it most likely was one of his usual 'no contact' episodes. That Jason tended to close off and completely distance himself from everyone when his headspace got too dark or an operation got too dangerous.
You had tried to convince yourself you could deal with that. Dick's explanation had been very vague; probably because he didn't want you even more involved in their vigilante business, but the worry still lingered.
It seemed like a lifetime ago that night when he saved you from that alleyway mugging. It built gradually from that moment; another chance encounter, then he showed up again on your way home, and the first time at your place he took off his mask you knew you were done for. Not even Jason himself knew why he let it happen, or more like actively made it happen.Â
Maybe his loneliness had been simmering for too long, and he needed an out for his tension. He knew you were lonely too; cold family, few friends, not really living in an easy situation; so it had been all too easy to let the conversations run at nightâcursing your families, your pasts, your circumstances, the city that made it all happen...âand then let the touches linger, the clothes come off, and the nights stretch.
At some point you had started looking forward to those nights. Not just because of the attraction and physical aspectâthough yeah, obviouslyâbut because in a way they took some weight off your chest like nothing else did. You could talk quietly for hours, discussing everything and anything, laugh at each other's dry remarks and crass jokes, and inevitably fall into each other. It became the perfect excuse to finally let his guard down enough to end up asleep beside you most nights.
Not one of his finest moments, Jason could admit that much. But did he not have the right to this, even if it was a little bit fucked up? To spend time with a person who would not judge him, that could accept his fucked up way of living and not ask for more than he could give of himself?
Now you were questioning if it was all finally over. If he had decided that he was too tired to deal with your problems just to get a night over...
It hurt, honestly, and although it was bound to happen at some point, it felt like another confirmation that you weren't enough for Jasonâor anyoneâto want to stay with you for the long run. As stupid as that sounded, your mind kept feeding it to you.
At some point into the night, you had given up completely in the book. You were dozing off on your couch when your phone, abandoned beside your head, lit up with a notification. Half asleep, you squinted your eyes against the light...
Jason.
The lockscreen displayed a single, brief text: Fire escape.
Before you could even process the words, a faint, rhythmic tap sounded against the glass of your living room window.
You immediately stumbled off the couch, and despite yourself, your heart was already beating harder. It was the suddenness of it, probably some misplaced adrenaline, and relief.
You met his eyes through the glass, and quickly opened the window. The cold air slipped in alongside Jason. The dampness of the air outside seemed to cling to him. He looked like his usual self, black shirt, black jeans, black boots and a heavy leather jacket. Since he first revealed himself to you, he never appeared before you again as Red Hood, it was just Jason.
His boots landed on the wood flooring with a dull thud. He didn't touch you. Didn't offer a half-cocked smirk or a dry joke to soften the blow of a month's silence. He just stood near the radiator, hands shoved deep into his pockets, his posture rigid.
You didn't know how to read his expression.
âYou shouldn't have called Dick,â Jason said, his voice low and gravelly, and stripped of any warmth. âHe has enough to worry about without you dragging him into this.â
What...
A cold spike of disbelief hit your chest, instantly killing the remaining haze of sleep. âThat's seriously the first thing you say to me? After a month of nothing?â
âI told you from the start how this works,â he replied flatly, refusing to meet your eyes. He looked around your cramped living room, treating the familiar space like a stranger's home. âI come and go. I don't do check-ins. I came tonight to tell you to stop digging. We're done here.â
The words hit like a slap, but the sheer coldness with which he said it hurt worse. âWe're done? Just like that?â
âJust like that.â Jason finally looked at you, his green eyes dull, but he already looked somewhat defensive. âIt was a bad idea to let this go on as long as it did. I got reckless, you got comfortable. And something's going on I'm dealing with.â
âWhat's going on?â You muttered back.
âBusiness.â He replied dryly. âIt doesn't matter. I'm tying up loose ends before things get messy.â
"Oh and I'm a loose end?" You let out an incredulous, humorless laugh, feeling the sting in your eyes from tears about to build up. "So you get to cut me off once you've gotten enough?"
"Don't do that," he snapped, his hands fisting at his sides. "You knew who I was. You knew what you were getting into."
"I knew it was something complicated!" you huffed, averting your gaze for a moment in an attempt to gather your thoughts. "Doesn't mean you get to treat me like this!"
"I'm trying to protect you!" Jason raised his voice, his hands ripping out of his pockets, fists clenched so tight his knuckles whitened.
"By suddenly acting like I don't exist?! Do you expect me to be grateful?" You could only match his tone. You couldn't think of reacting in a more level way while your chest felt this tight.
"I expect you to accept it." He retorted, like it was that easy. "We can't keep doing this, it could get dangerous for youâ"
"And do you not care?" You cut him off, and you dreaded as much as you needed his answer to that. "Did you not care...? About how I'd feel? After everything we'veâhad together."
He took a step back, his jaw working as he triedâand failedâto drag his walls back up. He shoved a hand through his hair, tugging at the dark strands in a sudden, sharp gesture of frustration.
"Of course I care," he spat out, though the bite in his voice was directed entirely at himself. "God, that's the whole fucking problem! Do you really think this was easy for me? That I just walked away and didn't think twice?"
You stared at him, your throat tight, refusing to let the fresh wave of tears fall. "Well, you sure made it seem like it was, Jason."
He took a jerky step forward, the width of his shoulders crowding you as the space between you collapsed. He reached out, his big, calloused hands seizing your forearmsânot to hurt you, but with a frantic, impulsive grip of a drowning man reaching for a lifeline. âLookâthis shitâs been eating me alive. Iâm doing this for you!â
âStop using that fucking excuse!â You yanked your arms back from him, immediately taking a step back.
âItâs not a fucking excuse! Iâm doing this because I love you, goddamnit!â
The words slipped out like a confession, raw and bleeding. The silence that followed was deafening.
You froze, your breath hitching in your throat as you stared at him.
Jason let out a shaky exhale, his eyes brimming with a wet, heavy sorrow that he was failing to conceal. âI love you. And it scares the absolute shit out of me. Because the moment I let myself have thisâthe moment I let myself have youâIâm painting a target on your back.â
He swallowed hard, shaking his head slowly as he took a step backward, retreating toward the open window.
"I've died once already," he murmured, his voice so quiet it was almost lost to the wind blowing into the apartment. "I know what it feels like. And Iâd rather you hate me for the rest of your life than ever have to watch you go through it."
"Jay, please, waitâ!" you started, taking a step toward him, your heart hammering against your ribs.
But he was already stepping back out onto the fire escape. He looked at you one last time, heartbreak written all over his face.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I love you too much to let you die for it."
Before you could rush out, he was gone, swallowed up by the cold Gotham night, leaving you standing alone in the quiet of your living room.
a/n: don't worry girls he definitely comes back crying. I'd love to read some comments.
dick graysonâs favourite things to say to you (18+, minors dni)
°Ëâ´ âhi baby.â - said against your lips first thing in the morning, soft and sweet, a smile curling his mouth before he deepens the kiss.
°Ëâ´ âhowâs my pretty baby, hm?â - said into the phone when he calls you on your lunch break, smiling at nothing while you ramble about your day so far. his coworkers are gagging dramatically in the background.
°Ëâ´ âwear whatever you want.â - scoffed as he lounges on your shared bed, eyes tracing your figure hungrily. âmy baby can handle anything some asshole might say. plus, i can fight.â
°Ëâ´ âyouâre so gorgeous.â - said low as you come out of the bathroom in your evening wear, looking at your ass shamelessly as you bend over to grab your shoes. he knows itâs gonna be a fight to keep his hands to himself at this gala.
°Ëâ´ âit really is unfair, how pretty you are.â - murmured into the crown of your head, his arm slung low around your waist as his eyes track the retreating form of whoever it was that was just flirting with you, glaring.
°Ëâ´ âletâs get out of here.â - said with that grin of his you love so much, mischief dancing in his eyes. who are you to say no?
°Ëâ´ âbaby-â - gasped into your mouth as you wrap a hand around his length, his body shuddering as you stroke him, licking into his open mouth at the same time.
°Ëâ´ âyou feel so good, baby, god-â - groaned into the warm air of your bedroom, his head tipped back against the pillows, your mouth warm and wet around him. âyour mouth- fuck-â
°Ëâ´ âso good fâr me.â - panted into the crook of your neck as he sinks into you, the sound of your whine music to his ears.
°Ëâ´ âmine. say it. say it, or i wonât let you cum.â - murmured to you with one hand wrapped around your throat, pulling your back against his chest as he drives into you from behind, nipping at the skin of your jaw with a grin when you moan and tell him exactly what he wants to hear.
°Ëâ´ âi love you.â - whispered into the dark, you wrapped securely in his arms, his fingers tracing nonsensical patterns along your spine. he buries his face in your hair and a shaky inhale is all you get when you whisper it back to him, easy as breathing.

Summary: You get hit with a love spell. Naturally, the first person you seek out is Jason Todd.
Pairing: Jason Todd x gn!readerÂ
Word count: 4.5k
Warnings/tags: love spell (so potentially mild dubious consent but all the feelings are reciprocated), lovesick you, lovesick jason, repressed jason, LOTS of cuddling/lovie stuff, needles, magic, pining, happy ending.
the divider
Jason's having a good night.
He made himself an indulgent lasagna, and now he's got leftovers for tomorrow. He's off from patrol tonight, which, he must admit, was nice of Cass to offer.
Yeah, Jason actually feels pretty normal. Feels like any young person would. Hell, he might put on a movie he won't pay attention to, or finally adopt a cat, just to keep the normal streak going. That's what young folks do, right?
(He can think of some other things young people do, things that Jason won't allow himself to dream of.)
Knock knock.
Jason sighs. Well. The streak was good while it lasted.
He gets up, shuffling over in his sweats. He undoes the four locks and opens the door to reveal... you.
"Uh, hey," he says, cracking the door wider. "Everything okay?"
It's late. You shouldn't be out now, even if the sun hasn't gone down yet.
Jason frowns when you sway in the doorway and don't respond.
Then you flash him the sweetest smile he's ever been on the receiving end of. Wow. Sure, Jason's seen you flash your pretty teeth before. But not like this. And not at him.
"Hi, Jaylove. Hi."
"Uh." He watches you walk right past him, into his apartment. He shuts the door. "Hi... What's goin' on? You alright?"
You turn to face him. "Why wouldn't I be? After all, you're here."
"What?"
You walk to him and take his hands in yours. Jason's eyebrows rise.
"Hey...?" Jason says, looking at your joined hands. You lace your fingers together.
"My prince," you say happily. "Your eyes are beautiful. Like emeralds. And you have a beautiful mouth. Your whole face is beautiful. I'd like to paint you."
"Are you on drugs?" Jason releases your hands to hold your face. He gently pushes your eyelids up to inspect your pupils. You just smile.
"I feel high when you touch me," you say. "Just being near you is drug enough."
Yeah, Jason's now feeling a healthy amount of paranoia. It's not that you don't stop by or that you're not nice. No, you're the sweetest creature Jason's ever had the pleasure of meeting.
But wanting to touch him? Thinking he's beautiful? Calling him your prince? Either you're drugged or he's died again and found paradise.
Then again, he probably wouldn't still be in Gotham if this were paradise. You'd definitely be here, though.
"Right. Your eyes are fine." Jason lets go of your face. "You sure you didn't take anything? Drink anything? Run into anyone?"
"I drank tea," you say, gazing up at him. "And I petted a fat orange cat. Don't you want a cat?"
"I surely do. You drank tea?"
"Mmhm. It was almost as amazing as you."
Jason nods and takes your hand. "Okay. We're going to the Cave."
"How come?" you ask, but you don't protest as he leads you out and into the elevator.
"Because I wanna make sure you're okay," he says, pushing the button labeled one. You're definitely not okay, but he doesn't want to worry you.
"Oh." You lean against Jason's arm. He stiffens and looks down at you. You just burrow into his side. "'Cause you love me?"
Breath catches in his throat. You can't mean that. Do you even know what you're saying? No, impossible.
You look up when he's silent for too long. "Jay-Jay? Didja hear me?"
"Yeah," he says slowly. "Yeah, I did."
You look at him, big eyes sweet. "Don't you love me too? I love you."
Jason swallows hard. "I, um, don't think you're in your right mind."
Your lip quivers. Oh, God. No, please don't cry, please don'tâ
"You don't love me?" you ask, tears welling.
"I do love you," Jason says quickly, panicking at your distress. "I do. Shit. Please don't cry, honey. I do love you."
You frown, cheeks wet. "You're just saying that! You hate me!"
Jason shakes his head. "No, no! Oh, never, I could never hate ya, honest! I was just... um, this is the first time we've said it to each other, y'know? I do love you. Have for a long time now."
He strokes your cheek with his thumb, soaking up your tears. You sniffle but accept this, nodding.
"Oh. I'm sure I've told you that I love you before. I love you so much, Jason. I'll never love anyone the way I love you."
God, this is fucking torture. As the elevator reaches the ground floor, Jason takes a deep breath, lets you link your fingers with his, and leads you out to the street. The universe is intent in never granting him a normal night. Noted.
There's no way you're in your right mind. Jason's figured this from the start. But that doesn't make the way you look at him, like he's anybody worth looking at, any less painful.
He pulls out his phone, shoots a quick text to Dick. ETA 10 min.
Dick responds two seconds later. What's up?
Possible Code 12.
Jason pockets his phone, running through potential reasons for what did this to you. Ivy's not wreaking havoc tonight, as far as he knows.
Meanwhile, you're in another world, humming and holding his hand. Jason's thought about this many times, holding your hand and taking you for rides, you adoring him, hugging him, kissing him. He's nothing if not a masochist.
"Okay, sweetheart," Jason says, and you immediately turn to him, like a flower showing its face to the sun. Jason is no one's sun, though. He's more like the worm under your boot.
"Hm?" you ask, stroking his arm. Jason does his best to be normal about it.
"We're gonna, um, go to the Cave. You okay on my bike?"
You glance at his bike, and there's a tinge of apprehension on your face. Jason reaches for your shoulder, stops, then forces himself to touch you. You're not going to recoil from him, not in this state. And he's not doing it for himself; he's only touching you so that you'll let him take you to the Manor and figure out what's what.
He's not a bastard for holding your shoulder, right? He's doing it just so that you'll be safe.
(It doesn't matter. Jason knows he's a bastard for being in your life at all.)
You lean into him when he touches your shoulder.
"Never been on your bike, Jay," you say.
"I know. But I swear to you that you're safe. You know I'd never let anything happen to you, right? Never."
You nod. "Yeah. You always look out for me. 'S part of why I love you so much."
Good God. Jason's going to be a ball of self-hatred for the next millenia over this.
He puts his spare helmet on you, helping you fit the chin guard underneath.
"Okay?" he asks.
You give him a thumbs-up. Jason smiles and puts his own helmet on.
"You gotta hold on real tight, okay? As tight as you can. Don't worry 'bout hurting me."
"Mmkay!"
He helps you mount the bike first, then follows. As soon as he's on, you wrap your arms around his middle and smush your helmet into his back.
How long has he dreamed about this? Taking you on late-night rides, feeling you pressed against him, squealing as he floats through traffic (he'd never speed the way he does when he's alone; Jason doesn't give a shit about his own body, but your safety matters).
"The bike is loud, so I'm not gonna hear you if you say something, but if you want me to stop, tap my shoulder three times, okay?"
"Okay, Jaylove." You squeeze him in what's clearly a hug. "Ready."
Jason's not sure he is. It's been a long time since anyone's touched him, much less someone he's head over heels for. You're so trusting, it makes him ache. Jason's just glad he's the first jerk you laid your eyes upon instead of the magic you're under pushing you into the arms of someone dangerous.
He starts up his bike. Jason's had guests on his bike before, mostly his brothers and, once, the old lady who runs the tea shop down the block.
He's never had a lovely thing like you snuggled up to him, clinging to him. Jason feels rabid. He feels like he needs to be shot and put out of his misery.
He follows all of the road rules so you won't be scared. You don't tap his shoulder or shake, so Jason figures you're fine. He's good. He's being good for you.
Jason slows as he goes down the ramp to the Cave entrance. He stops at the mouth of the Cave and dismounts first, pulling off his helmet.
"You alright in there?" he asks, offering his hand.
You wrap your arms around his neck and Jason wobbles as he recalibrates and snakes an arm around your shoulders instead and helps you off that way. He removes your helmet. You blink at the new light, then look at him, moony-eyed once again.
"I was kinda scared," you admit. "But I trust you, Jaybee. Always."
"Got you here in one piece, didn't I?" he says, winking at you.
"Uh-huh!"
Jason sees what you're going to do before you try. He sees the way you look at his lips, how you rear back, ready to leap and kiss him.
He redirects you immediately, preferring that to making you cry again. He hates it when you cry. Your soft mouth lands on his jaw instead.
Jason smiles, strained. You're annoyed at the fact that you missed, and Jason can see that you're about to try again when Dick and Tim come into view.
He's never been more thrilled to see his brothers.
"Fellow bretheren," Jason says. He knows his voice is thin. "Funny seein' you here."
You're briefly distracted and wave to be polite. But then you force Jason's left ear to your level and catch the lobe between your teeth.
Holy fuck. Jason nearly buckles at the sensation. He's never understood the ears as an erogenous zone beforeânow he gets it. He's ashamed of how heat pools in his gut as you nip his ear.
Jason balances you with an arm around your waist, gingerly trying to both hide his reaction and separate you. He accomplishes neither. Tim's eyebrows are at his hairline; Dick's mouth is open, no doubt ready to make a smart-ass comment.
"Well, it's nice to see you two so... affectionate," Dick says, holding back a grin.
Jason rolls his eyes. "I need you to run tests. They showed up to my door like this, all over me."
"Yeah, that is weird," Tim says.
"Thank you very much for that, Timbit," Jason grumbles. You kiss under his ear and weave your fingers through his hair. Jason manages to get your hands off, but your mouth is still firmly planted on his neck. He clears his throat. Normal!
"I dunno, Jason," Dick says. "It's not that weird. People fall in love every day."
And, okay. Jason can do teasing. He can even do borderline psychotic remarks. That's part of having siblings. He's made a few in his day. They've all stabbed or shot each other.
But now Dick is just being cruel.
Jason scowls. "Take their blood so we can fucking get this over with. They're clearly under a love spell."
His scathing tone surprises Dick, but it really startles you. You've moved away from his ear (Jason is both relieved and disappointed) and return to cradling his arm. You're alarmed by his reply.
"Jaylove?" you ask. "What happened? Are you mad?"
Jaylove? Jason sees Tim mouth. He forces himself to focus on you, be gentle for you.
"Hm, no, not mad at ya, sweetheart. Sorry 'bout that. But we need to run some medical tests on ya, 'kay? Can we do that?"
"Sure," you chirp, linking your arm with his.
Dick and Tim slip into Work Mode. Jason appreciates that. His nerves are frayed. He senses a self-destructive episode coming on after you're cured. Maybe he'll throw himself into a bar fight tonight.
"Symptoms?" Tim asks, going to the computer.
"Being in love with me," Jason says dryly.
"Besides that. Any physical symptoms like dizziness or nausea? Recklessness?"
"No, didn't notice any sickness. Not reckless; they did everything I said." Jason swallows, says the next part quietly, fearfully. "Probably jump into the Hudson if I asked."
Tim nods sharply. Dick prepares to draw your blood. Again, you're apprehensive. But Jason soothes you, pets you, and you're leaning into him like a cat in its favorite patch of sun as Dick takes your blood.
"I wanna get married," you say as red fills the second vial.
Dick shoots him a sympathetic look. Jason looks away.
"Soon, honey," Jason says, ignoring how his stomach's a pit.
He didn't think about love or relationships when he came back. Didn't care, not when he had revenge to plot.
But after all that was over, after he met you, after he found a reason to keep living, Jason started thinking about it.
And what he realized is that he's never getting married.
By choice? Yes, sure. Jason loves pretending he has a choice in anything. Sure, he chooses to abstain from marriage, like normal people out there do. But really, he avoids attachment because it wouldn't be fair to anyone. He knows he's not made for that. His death made him unsalvageable. It's a miracle he's here at all. How dare he ask for more?
And inside, he chokes on a vine of hatred for everyone else who can find someone. Who's capable of loving and being loved. It even, to Jason's shame, has reared its head at you, whispered in his ear about how you're not damaged, so of course you'll find someone one day. Of course you'll leave him eventually. It would be stupid of him to hope otherwise.
"When?" you ask as Dick starts on the third vial. You don't even notice. Dick could probably drain you dry as long as Jason's in front of you. "When can we get married?"
"How 'bout next month?" Jason says without thinking. He would. He'd marry you tomorrow.
You think about this for a moment, then nod. "Yes, that would be good. I've always wanted a fall wedding."
"Yeah? I always liked the idea of marrying in the spring. All the flowers."
"No," you say. "Pollen's out. You'd be sneezing your head off."
Jason laughs, then wants to cry, because you know that he's allergic to pollen.
"Yeah, y'right," he says, voice thick. "Fall wedding's better."
"Alright, all done!" Dick says, forcefully cheerful. He removes the needle and puts a Bandaid on the inside of your elbow. You rest your head on Jason's arm. Jason tries not to boil himself in a fire of misery. You probably won't even remember this.
Dick watches you both, then tugs your hand. "Hey, you mind helping me fill out some info? For the tests."
Your mouth shrivels. You look at Jason, and he can't believe he's your North Star, magic or not.
"I don't wanna leave Jason," you say.
"He'll be right here," Dick says quickly. "Won't leave your sight for a second. But I need your help."
"Just for a minute?" you ask.
Dick nods. "One minute."
You sigh and turn to Jason. "I'll be right back."
Jason nods, tries to smile. "Sure. I'll be here."
He'll be here. Forever and ever and ever...
Wait a second. Tea. Jason jolts.
"Tim. They said they drank tea. Could be something there."
"On it," Tim says. "Dick, we need a mouth swab."
"Right." He turns to you. "Can Iâ"
"No," you say, and march back to Jason. "You said a minute."
Jason would laugh at the pout on your face, the way you plop yourself next to him and curl around him like he's a new toy. He would laugh. If he could find the humor.
Dick looks at him. Jason sighs.
"Honey?" You hum. "We just need one more test, yeah? Q-tip on your tongue. Not the most pleasant, but it'll be quick. Promise."
"Okay," you say immediately, hugging his arm.
Jason knows it's a spell, or maybe a lab-made chemical. But he's still awed by how quickly you acquiesce. How you show no worry when Dick approaches because Jason's right there, patting your hand.
Dick swabs your mouth. You cough three times after, most of your body on Jason.
"Interesting how they're not lustful," Dick says.
"What," Jason says.
"Okay, the ear thing was..." Dick shrugs. "But it's not mindless. It's actually the most reasonable love spell I've ever seen. Like, their desires for you don't feel manufactured, they feelâ"
"Don't," Jason snaps. "Don't fuckin' say it."
Dick holds up his hands. "It was just an observation. You've seen Ivy's pollen doses. This one seems different."
"Fine. Ivy's taking a break from the orgies. Doesn't mean this is real."
Jason's not stupid enough to hope.
"It can't be Ivy," Tim says, and Jason almost startles. He forgot Tim was there, so wrapped up in you. "No reports of Ivy attacks. And the substance, whatever it was, wasn't inhaled. It was injested."
You wrap your arms around Jason's neck and smush your face against his. You're warm and smell good. Jason feels feral.
He holds you with a hand on your back, mind turning.
"Sweetheart," he says. You hum. "You said you drank tea after work. Where exactly did you go?"
"Dunno," you say, spacey. "Went into a tea shop that's never been there before. And an old lady invited me in. She said I looked so sad. And I was, Jaybee! How did she know?"
"I don't know, honey," Jason says quietly, even though he has a suspicion. He's never letting you walk home alone again.
Tea shop. That's what he gets for trying to be a good Samaritan. How dare she drug you?
"Hm. Well, she gave me a tea sample, said it would make all my problems disappear. Then I petted her cat named Darcy. Like that book you like!"
God, Jason just wants to hug you tight and kiss your face. It's awful of him to think of you as cute in your state, he knows.
"Track their routes," Jason says. "They take two different ones home. One crosses Bank Street, the other goes over the bridge."
"I'd call you a stalker but I really have no right," Tim says, fingers flying over the keyboard.
"No shit," Jason mumbles, letting you play with his fingers.
"Jason," Dick says quietly. He glances at you, then at his brother. "If it's too much, we can sedate them."
"No. We don't know how it'll react to the tea. It's not Ivy's brew."
Dick frowns. He knows Jason's right. Jason knows he's right.
"Okay, I got something. Magic signatures from a building on Tenth Street," Tim says. "And I think I'm onto an antidote."
"I'll check it out," Dick says, going to suit up. He looks at Jason. "Are you-?"
Jason nods. "I'm fine. Go."
So Dick does. Tim is able to make an antidote within the hour. He gives it to Jason who injects it into your neck. He feels guilty even though this is whatâll cure you. You wince at the pinch but you don't so much as whimper, endlessly trusting.
"They'll probably crash soon," Tim says, out of your earshot. "I don't know if you should risk the bike."
Jason sighs. Tim's right, and it makes him all the more agitated that his brothers have been helpful and even kind of nice during the whole thing.
You're going to crash soon. Jason has no choice but to bring you up to the Manor.
"Come on, sweetheart," he says, taking your hand and standing.
"Where're we goin'?" you ask, yawning.
"Goinâ tâbed, honey. Aren't ya tired?"
"Hmm. Mmhmm."
"Yeah, thought so."
Jason leads you up the stairs and out of the Cave. He helps keep you steady as you trip up the stairs. He's tempted to just carry you, but he feels like that might be overkill.
Once at the top of the stairs, Jason stops. Swallows.
He hasn't been up here in a while. He slept in his room once after he returned, after a nasty encounter with Scarecrow.
"Wanna sleep in your bed, Jay," you mumble, cheek against his arm.
Jason sighs. "Yeah. Okay, love."
You go to his room. It's clean, as usualâAlfred never let it get dusty. Jason had hoped that if you ever saw his room it would be in much different circumstances. Normal circumstances.
But, well. Here you are.
"Hmm, 's nice," you say as Jason pulls back the bedspread and helps you out of your shoes. You start to take off your pants and he panics.
"Uh! Uh, baby, maybe keep the pants on. You might get cold."
You frown in confusion. "Doesn't feel cold."
"Yeah, but, whew, Alfred blasts the AC! Jus' keep 'em on."
Jason cannot handle seeing you in your underwear. He draws the line there.
"'Kay," you say, and flop onto the sheets. You wiggle around, getting comfortable.
Jason sits in the fat armchair in the corner of the room. Immediately, you sit up.
"Why're you over there?" you ask, eyes wide.
Oh, boy.
"Oh. I was, um, gonna read for a bit. I'll come in in a while."
Your lip trembles. Noâ
"Don't leave me, Jaybee. Don't leave! Stay with me. I love you!"
Jason rubs his forehead. "Honeyâ"
"You hate me! You do! I annoy you." Tears gather in your eyes.
Jason hurries to the edge of his bed, climbing in in his jeans and socked feet.
"No, no, love, we covered this. I don't hate ya, hm? Where'd ya get a silly thing like that?"
You quiet as he scoots in beside you. Then you throw most of your limbs over him. Jason stiffens.
"Just got scared," you say, and kiss his chest. "Promise you won't leave?"
Jason breathes in. Breathes out.
"Yeah. I promise."
And he stays.
You wake up with a faint headache and a dry throat. Sunlight peeks through the blinds. You feel warm and safe and well-rested, despite the slight pains.
You stretch, expecting air. Instead, you touch skin. You open your eyes.
Oh. You're in a bedroom.
No, scratch that. You see framed pictures of the Bats, books on shelves.
You're in Jason Todd's childhood bedroom. With the aforementioned tucked under your arm and leg.
You jerk away so hard, you land on the carpeted floor below.
Jason's up instantly, head poking over the bed. His eyes widen.
"Shit! Y'alright? C'mere."
He gets up and practically scoops you into a standing position. Your brain short-circuits: big strong man strong big good nice. Then you recover.
"Um," you say. "Uh. Hmm. Hi."
Jason smiles tightly. "Hey."
"What... how-?"
"Right. How much do you remember?"
You try to think. You remember walking home, drinking tea, an affectionate orange cat. You remember hands on your face and your stomach swooping on a motorcycle and a gentle voice. So gentle.
"You were magicked," Jason says quickly. "It was a, uh, tea shop. Dick's checking it out. You, um, came to me and I took you here and you got an antidote and you didn't want me to, um, leave. So, yeah. Sorry."
You tilt your head. "Why are you apologizing, Jason?"
He sighs. "Just 'cause."
You have no idea what that means. But you feel like Jason's telling you a very condensed version of what happened.
"What was the magic?" you ask.
He winces. "Love spell. You thought you were... in love with me."
Jason says it like he's the one who charmed you. Like he's ashamed of it.
"Oh," you say. Well, you certainly didn't need a spell for that to happen.
"Yeah." Jason's staring at your and his shoes by the door. "But everything's fine now. I can take you home. Dick and Tim'll take care of the tea shop witch."
He doesn't wait for a response, darting to the door. You rush forward and close the door as Jason opens it. He looks at you in confusion.
"Jason," you say softly. "What happened?"
"Whaddya mean? I told you."
"Jason. I've known you for three years. You think I don't know when you're not telling me something?"
He looks at his feet. One of his socks has a hole in the toe.
"There's nothin' to tell," he mumbles. "Magic stuff. Happens all the time. Business as usual."
You frown. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, Jay. I admittedly don't remember a lot."
Jason's expression is relief but there's a heaviness to his shoulders. "Well, 's for the best, really. Magic messes with your head."
"Did I make you uncomfortable, Jason? Not letting you leave andâGod, I can't imagine how I was on the spell."
He shakes his head fervently. "No! No, no, my God, no. You didn'tâyou could neverâI mean, I wasn't... fuck. No. You didn't make me uncomfortable."
"If you're sure," you say.
He nods. "Hundred percent."
Jason doesn't sound like he's lying. You're pretty good at detecting it, especially when it comes to his feelings.
So why is he acting weird?
Well, duh. A love spell. You probably freaked him out, especially since you really do love him.
"I hope we can still be friends," you offer.
Jason turns to the door.
"Yeah," he says quietly. "'Course we're still friends."
It shouldn't make you ache. Jason's perfectly in the right to not reciprocate how you feel. How can he reciprocate something he doesnât even know exists?
"You, uh..." Jason scratches the back of his neck. He faces you once more. "You said last night that you were sad. When you were coming home. I just wanted to say, y'know... you can talk to me. 'Bout anything."
This will make all of your problems disappear, she had said. It'd tasted like kombuchaâyou hadn't had a lot of faith.
Jason begins to open the door. You slide in front of him and slam the door shut with your back. He steps back in surprise.
"Whâ"
"I have to tell you something!" you blurt.
Jason stills. "Okay."
"I adopted you a cat," you say.
He squints. "What?"
"Well, she's still at the shelter but I put her on reserve. Of a sort. I have a friend who works there. She's black and white and likes to cuddle and has two different colored eyes but she can't see very well. Her name is... whatever you want to name her. Because she's yours. And I think you'll love her."
He nods slowly. "I, uh, thanks. Thank you. I was thinking about adopting aâ"
"I was sad last night because I kept thinking about how you're gonna love this cat I got you but you'll never love me, and how that's the fucking worst feeling in the world."
You've stunned him silent. Shit.
Seconds tick by. A minute. Two minutes.
"Okay," you say, wanting to jump out of Jason's two-story window. "I'm gonna go drop off the face of the Earth now. Bye."
You open the door. Jason closes it by caging you against it.
And then he kisses you.
Jason pours everything into the kiss. He's not a perfect kisser but it's good. It's magic. He holds your face completely, shuts out the entire world. Kisses the breath out of you.
Yes, you could go on. It's fantastic. It's fireworks. It's sunbeams.
And actually, it feels like the most normal thing in the world, kissing Jason Todd.

đٞ. Dick Grayson áŻáĄŁđŠ
"Are you on top of a building?" You ask, leaning closer to the screen as if that will somehow help you see past Dick's face and the glowing stretch of BlĂźdhaven behind him. He looks unfairly good for someone halfway through patrol - black hair windblown across his forehead and the domino mask hiding those blue eyes.
"Yeah, so, like - hold on." He flips the camera around and immediately starts walking, boots scraping lightly over concrete while the screen swings between buildings.
"You live there," he says, pointing down toward one apartment tower, and then turns toward another. "And there's my place. Wait - " The camera flips back to him, his masked eyes narrowing slightly as he thinks. "Have I seriously never taken you up here before?"
"Must've been one of your other girlfriends," you tease, sinking deeper into your chair as you tug the sleeves of his sweatshirt farther over your hands.
Dick's smile drops so fast you nearly laugh. "My other girlfriends?" He plants one gloved hand against his chest like you've wounded him. "Wow. Okay. That's crazy, actually." You can hear the grin coming back into his voice before you even see it, bright and dazzling. "I have one girlfriend. One. She's mean to me, actually. Borderline abusive. Steals my clothes, teases me, a real mean lady"
"I am NOT mean, Grayson. This has been my hoodie for like ever."
"It says Gotham University. Pretty sure," he drawls out loudly, ever teasingly, "you didn't go there, baby. I would've never missed someone as gorgeous as you."
You laugh before taking a sip of your water, and Dick laughs with you, the sound softening when he drops down onto the ledge of the building. He sits as if gravity has never particularly applied to him, one leg dangling over the side while the other bends beneath him, phone balanced casually against his knee. For a little while, neither of you says much. You answer an email and fix the cuff of his sweatshirt where it's starting to fray. Dick watches the city below, shoulders finally relaxing now that patrol has slowed down. Every so often he looks back at the screen just to make sure you're still there, and when you catch him doing it for the third time, he doesn't even pretend otherwise.
"What?"
"Nothin'." His mouth curves into that softer smile he saves for you, chin resting against his fist. "You look cute. I miss you." There's a pout at the end of that. He's almost hinting to come over afterwards to steal your entire morning.
You roll your eyes and take another sip.
"You can come over later."
"I was already planning on it." He grins before putting in his earbuds. "How about I bring breakfast?"
⊠Jason Todd áŻâ
Jason Todd has never played Stardew Valley in his life, yet somehow he has become deeply invested in your little playthrough. You've got Discord open on your laptop while your phone sits propped on your desk, giving you an excellent view of him midway through a workout.
Shirtless, broad shoulders and old scars shifting every time he moves, the white streak at the front of his hair damp with sweat and falling into his eyes. "So you gotta greet every chicken every day?" he asks from the floor, forearms planted against his mat while he holds a plank.
"Yes." You continue to clack away, occasionally showing him the coop.
"Sounds needy, like you. You need me to check on you every day"
You glance over and catch him looking at the phone instead of the floor. Specifically watching to see whether you're looking at him. A bead of sweat runs down his chest, and Jason's grin only grows more when your eyes linger half a second too long.
You immediately turn back to your laptop.
Cocky asshole.
"Well, this one's named after you." You circle your character around a fat brown chicken wandering through the grass, and Jason's attention snaps over immediately, squinting at the screen.
"Which one?"
"This one."
He cranes his neck toward the screen without breaking his plank. "Yeah."
You stare at him. "Yeah?"
"Handsome little guy." His timer goes off and Jason drops flat onto the mat with a grunt, cheek pressed to his forearm for a second before rolling onto his back. His chest rises and falls while he reaches blindly for his water bottle, takes a long drink, then wipes his mouth with the back of his wrist. "How long've you had me?"
"The chicken?"
Jason lifts his head and gives you a look. "Careful."
You grin a little, biting your lip before looking away. "Like two in-game years."
"So we're serious."
He pushes himself back up and slings a towel around his neck while you move onto the next creature in your coop. "And this one's Grayson-"
Jason's brow furrows "Why's he blue?"
"Because he's a blue chicken?"
His face suddenly fills half your FaceTime screen, green eyes flicking between you and the game while one hand braces against his hip. "Yeah, but those are the rare ones."
There's a pause, and you slowly turn toward your phone. Jason realizes his mistake approximately one second too late.
"How'd you know those are rare?"
He presses his tongue to the inside of his cheek to break the smile forming on his face before looking down at you.
"Answer my question first."
You immediately start laughing.
"Nah, don't laugh." Jason points accusingly at the laptop. "Why's Dick special?"
"He's just blue!"
"And I'm brown."
"Jason. Wait - I can explain - "
"Regular-ass chicken." He announces loudly. You can hear a small giggle from Steph in the background.
"Damian is the dinosaur! I just pick what makes sense."
That shuts him up for all of two seconds. Then Jason's brows shoot up. "Okay, that's bullshit. I should be the fucking dinosaur, and you know it."
You're laughing hard enough that your character starts running useless circles around the coop. Jason finally cracks too, shaking his head as he grabs his phone and carries you through the manor toward the kitchen.
"Alright, what'd you make Tim?" he asks, pulling open the fridge. You go suspiciously quiet. Jason pauses with one hand still on the door. You cover your mouth.
His eyes narrow. "You made Replacement a rabbit?"
You immediately start laughing again.
"Of course you did." He snorts, digging through the fridge. "Lemme guess. Steph's a duck? Loud as hell too, always yappin'. Yap, yap, yap."
"You can't say things like that!"
"What?" He waves a hand around the kitchen, completely unbothered. "Tell me I'm wrong."
He props your phone against the fruit bowl and starts pulling leftovers from the fridge, still complaining while he works. He's stirring something on the stove while giving you increasingly unsolicited farm advice from YouTube videos he's been watching.
"Have you been Googling this?"
"No. And you tell nobody about this." He takes a bite straight from the pan and points the spoon at you. "Eat your dinner."
A week later, you get a notification from Steam that Jason Todd has purchased Stardew Valley. Two weeks after that, there's a dinosaur wandering around your shared coop named Jason.
The first time you mention it, he threatens to sell the void chicken he named after you.
ۜৠTim Drake :ęŁ
Tim almost always calls you through Discord because Discord is practical. He can share whatever nightmare of a spreadsheet he's working on, you can stream your screen, and neither of you has to hold a phone for four hours straight. FaceTime is different. FaceTime usually happens when you're in bed and Tim is still very much refusing to be.
"Should I mute myself?" he asks, glancing down toward where his phone is propped against a stack of case files beside his laptop. He's hunched over his desk in an old Gotham Knights shirt, dark hair hanging over his eyes until he pushes it back with one hand. The shadows beneath them look almost bruised in the bluish light from his monitors, and there are at least two empty coffee mugs within arm's reach.
You can barely keep your eyes open anymore, cheek mashed into your pillow. "Why?"
"My keyboard." Tim types another line, pauses, then looks back at you. "It's probably loud."
You listen to the rapid click-click-click coming through the speaker. "No."
"Okay."
And that's apparently all he needed.
For another twenty minutes, the two of you barely talk. You watch him through the phone, eyes already half-lidded with sleep while Tim works through case notes, shoulders curling tighter whenever he gets particularly focused. Papers shift. His chair rolls backward. Every few minutes he mutters something under his breath, deletes an entire paragraph, then starts typing again. You're somewhere between awake and asleep when your phone slips sideways against the pillow.
Tim notices immediately. "Hey."
You blink. "What?"
"Can't see you."
You stare at him with a deep sigh and fumble around until the phone is upright again. "There."
"Thanks."
And then he goes straight back to work as though that wasn't deeply pathetic. You watch him for another second. "You got something for watching people?"
"Mhm... mostly for watching you, though."
Your eyes start drifting shut again, and Tim continues typing until he catches you rubbing your face into the pillow. "You tired?"
"No." Your eyes betray you by closing.
"You sure look tired. Want me to come tuck you in?"
"Shut up."
He smiles without looking away from his screen and reaches for one of the coffee mugs. Your eyes open immediately at the scrape of ceramic against his desk.
"Absolutely not."
Tim freezes with the rim halfway to his mouth. "What?"
"Put it down."
"It's coffee."
"It's almost two in the morning. We have a nine a.m. lecture together."
Tim looks from you to the mug, weighs his options, and then very intentionally takes one loud sip.
"Timothy."
"Don't government-name me."
You groan and roll onto your side, propping yourself up with one hand while the other reaches toward the red button. "I'm hanging up."
His head snaps toward the phone. "Nooooo. I'll miss you... stayyyyy."
You start laughing into your pillow because the whine is so dramatic and so completely at odds with the expressionless little detective who's been staring at case files for three hours. "You cannot be serious."
"I like watching you sleep."
"That sounds horrifying."
"It helps me relax."
"I'm sure YouTube has sleeping ASMR, Timothy."
"Not the same."
You reach over and turn off your lamp, leaving your room dark except for the faint glow of your phone. Tim's face is still illuminated by three monitors, one hand resting against his cheek while the other keeps scrolling through reports. "Goodnight. Please actually sleep tonight."
"Mhm."
"Tim."
"I heard you."
"You'll hate yourself tomorrow."
"Not if I see you."
You settle farther under the blanket, looking at him through half-closed eyes. "Goodnight."
His expression softens a little, a pout pulling at his mouth before he turns back toward the screen. "Night."
You hang up. Your room stays quiet for approximately twelve seconds before your phone buzzes.
Multi-character x gn!reader | Wade Wilson, Peter Parker, Bob Reynolds, Bucky Barnes
| aka: how they tell you they *need* you
| CW: 18+ mdni, nsfw
-Wade Wilson/ Deadpool
Subtlety has never been Wadeâs strong suit, especially not when his cock is involved. When it comes to wanting you- needing you- heâll be damned if he canât get that message across.
âSeduction is my middle name, toots,â Wade tells you, and heâs always been one to put his money where his mouth is.
Saying it, showing it, texting it, mailing you a letter. He wonders if itâs romantic to attach heart balloons to a carrier pigeon⌠or if it would just float awayâŚ
You come home one day to find a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom, the sound of jazz music playing just beyond the door. You find yourself blushing as you follow the teasing tune, the I Love You and Be Mine balloons stuck to the walls making it worse. It wasnât even a special occasion, Wade was just crazy about you.
You walk through the bedroom door and try not to choke as your eyes gaze over a very naked and very hard Deadpool, lying seductively across the mattress on an even bigger pile of rose petals. Wadeâs not even the craziest thing laying on your sheets- you make eye contact with a paddle, some vibrators, and who knows what else before you find him looking at you with a shit eating grin. He has the audacity to wink and throw some petals in the air.
âWadeâŚâ you start, but he lets out a tsk tsk sound and beckons you forward with his finger.
âYou know how I get when I miss you, pookiebear,â he growls⌠or at least, you think thatâs what he says. Itâs hard to make out the exact words behind the rose dangling from his mouth.
-Peter Parker/ Spiderman
Peter is an amazing boyfriend. He is kind, sensitive, thoughtful⌠romantic, even when heâs not trying to be. He loves you, craves you, just as much as he loves finding new ways to tell you so.
âŚAt his core, Peter Parker is also a huge nerd.
Is there something wrong with my eyes? I canât seem to get them off of you. // You must be gravity, because my body canât seem to stay away from yours.
Pick up line, after pick up line. Almost always heâll use one when heâs in the mood, like itâs physically impossible for him to initiate anything without cracking a joke. He means them too.
âWhat are you doing?â You ask him, and all he can do is blink down at you.
âUhh.. trying to pick you up? ⌠Is it working?â
You canât even be too mad; theyâre always sweeter than they are raunchy.
The dorkiness gets through to you in the end, it always does. The shy smile he offers you as he kisses your cheek, the way his eyes light up when you can no longer hold back a grin. Heâll pick you up and toss you over his shoulder, and you canât help but laugh and squeal as he takes you to the bedroom.
Heâll continue saying the most ridiculous pick up lines all through the night, even as his hands and lips roam over your body. Only way to shut him up for good is to preoccupy his tongue with doing something else, and heâd never complain about that.
-Bob Reynolds/ The Sentry
He googles it, the first time.
âHow to set the mood, sexuallyâ he types, and begins his deep dive. The results only make him anxious, and more confused than before he started. What the hell was so sexy about jazz? Was this a cartoon? What kind of person would genuinely think jazz sets the mood?
The search eventually turns into questions like âHow to be sexyâ and âwhat do people find sexy nowadaysâ; both of which only make him red in the face and slam the laptop shut in defeat. If anyone ever found out about this, heâd never hear the end of it.
It scares him shitless- the possibility of rejection and outright humiliation at being turned down by the one he loves- but he knows that being paralyzed by what ifs was a thing that cowards do, and Bob was no longer a coward. Never again, especially not with you. He wanted your company tonight. Your hands on his body, his tongue licking every crevice of your skin. He wanted to make love to you for hours, and Go dammit he was going to be the one to initiate this time.
âI want you.â Heâll say when he gets you alone, and heâs surprised by how steady his voice is. How strong he feels when your half-lidded eyes meet his, and your body subconsciously moves closer.
He feels goosebumps rise over your arms as he pulls you in for a deep and longing kiss, and makes a mental note of all the different ways your body responds to him. How cute you look when you wait for him to make the next move, how good it feels to take the lead for once.
-Bucky Barnes/ The Winter Soldier
Being with you as long as he has, Bucky learns one thing: there is a time for affection, and there is a time for sex.
Youâve both reached a flow state now, in which Bucky doesnât need to tell you how he feels, especially in situations where actions speak so much louder than words. When he sees your bedroom eyes piercing into his, when he sees your breathing hitch and deepen in a way that mirrors his own. When he sees your eyes roam over his body hungrily, pausing for a moment to appreciate the growing bulge in his pantsâŚ
Why verbalize his attraction, when instead he can cross the room in 3 strides, pull you against his chest, and kiss you so hard your legs give out? When he can lift you up in his arms and press you against the wall as he fucks you senseless?
Make no mistake though, Bucky is a gentleman. Just because you have your steamy moments doesnât mean heâs completely lost the skill of telling his lover how much he wants them.
âCome here.â Heâll murmur, his hand reaching out to you. Heâll kiss each knuckle before his lips slowly make their way to your wrist, up your arm, your shoulder, your neck. Heâll take his time, telling you in-between soft kisses that he wants you, and nothing else.

Dick:
Moving in with Dick Grayson has had its hiccups.Â
He has the oddest sleep schedule known to man, for one, and every time he tries to cook anything beyond what a 13 year old can, it seems to end in smoke and sheepish apologies.Â
Collectively, you now have more coffee mugs than you do forks, which speaks more to the amount of cutlery youâve curated than it does to decorative mugs.Â
Nothing however, in the two weeks youâve been living together, could have prepared you for this.Â
Nightwing stands in your bedroom, frozen in shock after having climbed through your window. You stand on the opposite side of your bedroom, the baseball bat Dick keeps by his bed clutched in your hands.Â
âWoah, woah, Iâm Nightwing, Iâm one of the goodââ
Nightwing is real?
âWhat the hell are you doing in my bedroom?â
And where the hell is Dick when you need him?
Nightwing raises his hands in surrender, a slightly-familiar sheepish grin on his face. âYouâre not gonna hit me with that, are you?â He pulls out one of his own escrima sticks and tosses it on the bed, âat least use that, itâll hurt more.â
You blink, unimpressed. âYouâre not serious, are you?â
âDead serious.â
Despite your trepidation, you lean forward and snatch the stick off the middle of the bed. You turn it over in your hands, examining it.Â
Dick breathes a sigh of relief, happy his distraction worked. Heâs dead tired, and heâd gotten sloppy on the way home when all he could think about was getting out of his suit and into bed with you.Â
He didnât even think about what he was doing until heâd slipped his second leg through the window only to be met with the sound of you shouting. Heâd by lying if he said he wasnât at least a little proud at how quick you were to get out of bed and start threatening the fully grown vigilante in your room.Â
âIf youâre done yelling,â he says cautiously, âIâll just be going, Iâm clearly in the wrong apartment.â
âThe wrongââ You laugh incredulously, âyou donât double check before breaking and entering?â
âHey, you try doing this in the dark in the middle of the night.â
Your eyes roll. Dickâs never wished more that he could reach out and kiss you.Â
âIâll be taking that,â he says, reaching over the bed and grabbing his escrima stick from your hand. âUh, maybe donât tell anyone about this.â
âEmbarrassed?â
âSomething like that.â
And before you can say anything else, heâs maneuvering back through your window and disappearing into the night. You latch it tightly behind him before crawling back into bed, your heart still racing. Â
Grabbing your phone, you start typing out a message to Dick. Youâll never believe what just happened to me.Â
Jason:
You thought he was a myth. Some silly tale passed around from criminal to criminal like parents warning their children of the bogeyman. But if heâs a myth, then why is he standing in your living room?
It was hard enough to come to terms with Batman being real, but seeing Red Hood in person is almost as absurd as if Santa Claus himself had broken into your house.
You hold your breath, pressed against the wall, the glass of water youâd snuck out of bed to grab clutched tightly in your hand. Your hands are shaking, your knees are shakingâfear wracks your whole body. And then the glass slips, shattering across the floor and spreading glass and water everywhere.
Any hope Jason had that you didnât see him dies in his chest. Fuck.
âIâm not here to hurt you,â he says, and for once, he wishes his voice was just a little softer under the mask.Â
âT-then whyââ You take a breath, trying to quell your fear. âWhy are you in my boyfriendâs house?â
Jason wishes he had a better answer, something beyond âIâm a fucking idiot who didnât think before I broke into my own house in full costume while you were there.â He comes up empty.
âJason isâŚâ His own name sounds foreign on his tongue, âhe left something here for me. He didnât say anything about you being here.â
At the sound of your boyfriendâs name, you suddenly remember the glass of his you just broke and the water seeping into his nice floors. You drop to your knees, cupping your hands and trying to stop the spread of the water.
Red Hood is crossing the room in the instant, footsteps heavy so as not to startle you. âWhat the hell are you doing?âÂ
âCleaning, IâI canât believe I broke that.â
âYouâre going to cut yourself,â he sighs, going to the kitchen and grabbing the roll of paper towel he keeps on the counter. Heâs semi-grateful for your panicked state keeping you from questioning how he knew where that was. âHere, let me.â
And before you can argue against it, Red Hood starts soaking up the water with paper towel. When heâs satisfied the floors are dry, he gets to work on the glass, gloved hands carefully picking up every last shard and wrapping them in another piece of paper towel.
You can only stare in utter disbelief as Red Hoodâthe notorious anti-hero, this broad man whoâd broken into Jasonâs houseâcleans up your mess as if itâs the must mundane thing in the world.
âT-thanks,â you stutter out, rising to your feet as the masked man discards the used paper towel in the trash.Â
âWas my fault you dropped it anyways,â he mumbles out. âTell Jason Iâll come back a different time.â
With that, heâs disappearing back into the shadows of the room, leaving back through the window he came from. You stand there, still shaking slightly, utterly shocked by what just happened.
Youâre still standing there twenty minutes later when Jason runs through the door, having ditched his gear off with Bruce. Heâs frazzled, a hand running through his messy hair.Â
âFuck, sweetheart, what are you still doing up?â
âYourââ You swallow, looking at your boyfriend with equal amounts of excitement and fear. âYour friend stopped by.â
Tim:Â
Youâre watching Netflix when you hear the distinct scraping of your window opening. Illuminated by the light of your tv screen, you can just barely make out the face of Red Robin, sleepily sliding a leg through your window.
You blink, almost entirely unphased by the sudden appearance of the vigilante. âUm, are you here for me?â
His head snaps up, mouth falling open. Shit. Tim had been so tired, so out of it, he hadnât even realized his brain was on auto-pilot to your apartment until youâd said that. Shit.Â
Heâs not sure whether heâs relieved or not by how unphased you are by a vigilante breaking into your house in the middle of the night.Â
He scratches the back of his neck. âNo..?â
You hum, your own tired brain working to interpret this information. âOkay,â you say simply.
âOkay?â
You nod, like itâs the simplest thing in the world. Tim fully commits, letting himself drop into your room and lean against your windowframe.
âYouâre not gonna ask why Iâm here, or..?â
âAre you here for something nefarious?â
âWell, noââ
You yawn, âthen I donât care. Do what you need to do.â
He mentally makes a note to talk to you tomorrow about stranger danger and what to do if someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night. For now, though, heâs slightly grateful for your nonchalance. He glances around your room, taking in the plushies you keep on your bed and the tv playing at half-volume, displaying a show a little too familiar to him.
âShit, are you watching Voltron?â
âRewatching,â you admit tiredly, finally sitting up in bed. âAre you a fan?â
And Tim suddenly wonders how this has never come up in all of your conversations with him. How is he just finding this out as Red Robin of all things?
âYou could say that,â he laughs slightly.
Then youâre patting the bed, inviting him further into your room. Tim knows he shouldnât, knows he has a dozen other things to look into tonight and yet, he finds himself settling in on the side of your bed he usually sleeps on to watch Voltron.
âWhat are you doing up so late, anyway?âÂ
You shrug, âwas waiting for my boyfriend to text me butâŚâ
Guilt pangs in his chest. He hadnât realized he forgot to text you back until right now, his phone feeling heavy in the pocket heâd tucked it into. Tim kicks off his boots and fully leans against your bedframe.
He really shouldnât be doing this. He knows itâll only lead to more trouble for himself both as Robin and Tim Drake and yet, he canât bring himself to leave.
âThereâs snacks on my kitchen counter if youâre hungry. Soda in the fridge.â
âYouâre feeding me after I broke into your house?â
âFigured you work up an appetite running around the city,â you slide back down into bed, lazily splaying your limbs across the mattress. âCould probably use the extra fuel.â
Tim can only smile, âI guess I never thought of it like that.â
Wally:
Wally doesnât realize his error until heâs skidding to a stop in his own living room only to be met with you, mid handful of popcorn, looking utterly shocked. Well, fuck.
Heâs exhausted, lungs burning from all the running heâs done tonight, and the blood trickling down his side is definitely staining the carpet Iris and Barry had gifted in when he moved in. Double fuck.
âAre youââ You tentatively rise to your feet, looking around as if youâre the one thatâs in the wrong place. âAre you okay?â
âYeah.â No.
Your eyes scan him, from the big logo on the middle of his suit to the hand he has clutched over the tear on his side that is definitely dripping blood all over Wallyâs floors. You start towards him, equally concerned as you are flabbergasted.
âYouâre bleeding.â
âIâmââ He takes a breath, a weak puff of air leaving his lips, âclearly in the wrong house.â
âYouâre bleeding,â you repeat, and youâre so close now you can very visibly see the cut on his side. Nothing too deep or serious, but painful looking nonetheless. âDo youâI think my boyfriend has a first aid kit around here somewhere.â
Under the sink, Wally thinks. But he wouldnât dare let you get too close to him right now, not when heâs sure youâll be able to sniff out itâs him every moment. His heart pangs as he thinks of how awkward a conversation thatâll be.
Before he can say anything, youâre disappearing down the hall, coming back with the first aid kit lifted above your head like a trophy. Wally canât help but smile a bit. Youâre so damn cute.
You order him to sit on the couch, laying down a towel youâd stolen from his bathroom to keep him from making a mess. âIâll try and be quick,â you promise. âBut not all of us have super speed.â
âAs long as it means you wonât maim me.â
Youâre careful as you patch him up, gentle touches along his skin as you clean and disinfect the wound. Wally sits there, resisting the urge to pet your head and kiss your forehead.Â
Itâs a few minutes of oddly comfortable silence before youâre pulling away with a grin, gently patting the wound. âThere,â you proclaim. âItâs not perfect, but itâll feel a little better, at least until you can leave.â
âThank you,â he says, rising to his feet and twisting his core. âIt feels way better already.â
âUm, before you go,â you smile sheepishly. âDo you thinkâcould I grab a picture with you?â
He raises a brow under his cowl.
âItâs just, my boyfriend is the Flashâs biggest fan, and I think heâd just really love to see proof of you in his apartment.â Your eyes widen slightly at the look on his face, âbut if youâre too busy, I totally get that too. This is silly, actually, sorry for evenââ
The Flash grabs your phone out of your hand, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side. Heâs quick to snap the picture, throwing up a peace sign before handing your phone back to you.
âUm, be careful out there.â
He laughs, âalways am.â
He offers you a two fingered salute before heâs disappearing from your living room, leaving nothing but a trail of lightning in his wake. You smile at the picture on your phone, Wally is gonna freak.

| Synopsis: Bruce Wayne is in love with you. He doesnât want to be.
| A/N: editing, reformatting & reposting this old thing because the previous layout was taking me out LOL. This was actually my first fic since coming back to writing last year, so I had to do her justice.
Bruce Wayne is in love with you. He doesnât want to be.
The day he finally admits defeat, it brings him pain like no other. He knew it could be nothing short of love from the way he couldnât stop thinking about you, or the ache that followed him when you werenât around. No matter how hard he tried to push thoughts of you away, you snuck right back to the forefront of his mind, occupying space that the Batman had no room for. He ignored the feeling for as long as he could, hoping if he paid it no mind it would eventually go away. He needed it to go away.
Most people begin picturing a life with the person that has stolen every thought, every waking moment from them. But Bruce canât. Where others picture life, Batman pictures death.
When the day comes that he can no longer push it away- when your love has seeped into every vein and cell in his aching body- a heavy, agonizing feeling settles deep in his chest. Reality sinks in, and misery is soon to follow.
His heart should be full of devotion for you, in his mind you deserve nothing less, but instead itâs full of fear. Fear of what happens when you dare to love someone in Gotham. When you dare to anything in this city except suffer, and die. Â
Flashes of his most horrible memories cloud his judgement. Consoling the inconsolable; parents losing children, children losing parents. Arriving at a crime scene just a few moments too late, the bodies warm but the eyes cold.
Cradling his son, his boy, as the smell of smoke burned down his throat with every heaving breath he took, knowing his Robin would never take one ever again. How he could still taste the bitter ash, days later, preparing for a funeral no father should ever have to attend.
Looking into the eyes of Barbara Gordon, feeling sick with guilt as a doctor tells her she would never be able to walk again. Never forgetting the way she crumpled upon herself and looked at him with utter ignominy, like she had been the one to fail him.
He was the Batman. He had trained himself to snuff out personal weakness for decades; perhaps even longer, from the moment that first pearl hit the ground. He could handle the memories and carry their weight, could concentrate enough to push them down and focus on the task at hand. He could handle the haunting echoes and flashes of horror, knowing heâd see much, much more before his life would end. He told himself he could handle the memories of those closest to him, the ones he had truly failed, and the burden that came with such a responsibility.
What he couldnât handle was that all of them- every single one- blamed themselves for what happened, for not being strong enough. For feeling guilt, at letting him down. Knowing that they would do it all over again, and do it with unwavering pride, just to remain by his side.
No, he couldnât handle that at all. Especially as he knew- knew with every fiber of his being- that you would follow suit if he stayed in your life. You would remain right by his side as he lulled you in with a false sense of security, leading you to wrongly assume your dark knight could protect you from any harm coming your way. It was almost too easy to picture his enemies laughing at him, giddy and licking their lips with bated breath, waiting for more tastes of flesh.
So no, he couldnât imagine being happy with you, even if he wanted.
Heâll push you away, telling you itâs not safe to be with him, not worth it. Did you not know what happens to those closest to him? Did you want to be next? Heâll get on his knees if he has to, his blue eyes full of such despair, just begging you to leave. Begging you to run and never look back, to choose yourself and your happiness the way he was choosing for you.
He begs you to leave. You beg him to stay.
Youâll cup his cheeks and pull him close, telling him you will be okay. You even promise him so, not understanding you hold no power to guarantee such a thing. You kiss him and comfort him, tell him that heâs just worried on your behalf and you love him for it really, but he doesnât need to be.
You cradle his head as he lays in your lap defeated, and run your fingers over his face with a kindness that doesnât last in his city. Telling him that you can see a life for the two of you, despite the chaos. One he deserves, because good people always got what they deserve, right? Where youâre both happy, together, as you should be. Laughing together as you reminisce of old jokes, holding hands as you fall asleep, sharing soft stolen kisses under a blue sky; canât he picture it too?
He closes his eyes, desperate to see it. To see himself living in a world where fear does not exist, sharing a long life with the person he loves. Never worrying about their safety, never having to. He tries, for a second. He really does.
But the clouds come back, and they bring rain. The same rain heâs sure will mercilessly fall on the newest plot at his familyâs cemetery, splattering against a gravestone heâll forever mourn at. He looks up into your warm eyes, already picturing them cold.

| Synopsis: In which you tell Jason to touch himself. You watch.
| A/N: We need more sultry!reader fics. Youâre telling me if you got a chance to spend the night with the Jason Todd, youâd spend it on your back?? Nah. Also if you like a more dominant reader, I wrote something a while back, you can find the fic here. Enjoy!
The night starts like any other, with a hot and breathless Jason carrying you to the bedroom like his life depends on it. His calloused hands grip your thighs, lifting them effortlessly to wrap around his waist. Your own hands roam over his chest, appreciating the toned muscles under his skin as well as the fact that he hadnât bothered to put on a shirt. He kisses you deeply, tongues entangled and lips never leaving yours even as he maneuvers around the apartment towards your shared bed.
You laugh when you feel the air leaving your lungs as you fall onto the soft sheets, Jason gracefully landing beside you with a blissful groan.
âYou have no fucking idea how much I missed you today, sweetheartâ he sighs, his hands going to tuck the hair behind your ears, caressing your face with the reverence of a man starved. âIâve been thinking about you like this for hours.â
Any other day, you would have melted under him like a puddle, and let your man kiss and fuck and do with you what he pleased for hours upon hours⌠but tonight wasnât quite like the rest. Not exactly.
Tonight, you had other ideas.
He leans forward to close the distance, but you place a hand on his chest to stop him.
âNo, not like that. Not tonight.â
He pulls back the moment he hears the word no leave your lips, always the gentleman even in the heat of the moment. His brows furrow in confusion. You give him a quick, reassuring kiss before you continue, adamant to halt any worried thought he may have.
âI want you,â you reassure, and the lustful look you give him emphasizes just as much. âI just⌠wanted to try something new tonight. Something Iâve been fantasizing about.â
He cocks his head to side, mostly confused but undeniably intrigued.
âOh?â He asks, and you hold back a shy smile.
âYeah, âohâ. Havenât been able to stop thinking about it all week actually, if Iâm being honest.â
Jasonâs interest is 100% piqued now.
âWell⌠what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didnât hear this out,â he quips, going in to press a tender kiss to your nose. âWhat did you have in mind, princess?â
You swallow, and take a steadying breath. Itâs now or never.
âI want to watch you touch yourself.â
Your voice is sounder than you thought it would be, any nervousness you thought youâd have-- non-existent. Thereâs nothing shy about the bedroom eyes you give him now. In contrast, his cheeks go red immediately.
âYou⌠you- want to watch meâŚ?â He murmurs back dazed, like he canât quite believe what he just heard. You nod back at him, your own cheeks warming in the process. It surprises you when you realize itâs not from shyness, but from need.
âYes. Please⌠please stroke your cock for me, baby,â you whisper, and it takes everything in Jasonâs power to remember how to breathe as he listens to you. âI want you to get up and pleasure yourself in front of me.â
He gulps as he contemplates this new request, mind going blank for a couple seconds before a growing ache between his legs brings Jason right back to earth. His eyes donât meet yours for a moment, unable to maintain the burning stare he knows youâre giving him. Shyness and desire battle inside him for the briefest second, and he goes still as he mulls it over. While his mind raced, Jason was acutely aware that his lower half had already responded.
Worry begins to creep into your heart as you watch him, wondering if you went too far, if the request had somehow crossed the line between a tiny bit kinky and flat out overboardâŚ
But then his green eyes darken, just a touch, and you know heâs all game. He pulls back, and starts to shuffle himself off the bed. Your heart skips a beat, and then itâs full-on hammering in your chest as you watch him slowly get up to his feet, his massive height hovering over you. You wonder if the anticipation of it all would be sexier than the actual act, but then heâs pulling at the drawstrings of his sweatpants, and you feel foolish for ever think so.
It feels teasing, how he takes his time, letting your eyes admire the vision that is his bare chest while he unties the strings with unhurried precision. Itâs deliberate; it gives him a moment to calm his nerves, as well as revel in the hungry look you give him as he undresses for you. Who knew his girl could be so dirty?
By the time his pants fall to the ground, heâs rock hard and huge, and you struggle to hold back a gasp. Watching your eyes widen was the last boost his ego needed, and with a knowing smile, Jason is able to push the last of the lingering self-consciousness away.
Slowly, with eyes that never leave your face, he carefully wraps his fingers around his cock, and squeezes. You let out a shaky, excited breath, and he feels himself pulsate in response. He grits his teeth, desperate to keep some fucking semblance of collectedness in front of his girl, and then heâs moving. Up and down. Up, and down. He grunts at the feeling of his pulsing veins, encouraged by how coy you look just watching from the bed.
He pumps faster.
It really is a sight to behold, and you have to stop from pinching yourself. The beads of sweat running down his chest⌠his shallow breaths⌠the glazed look in his gorgeous green eyes⌠Itâs the sexiest thing youâve ever seen.
Youâre quick to decide you want a closer view.
Biting your lip, you climb out of the bed, eyes never breaking contact with his. Playfully, you get down onto your knees and crawl closer towards him, reveling in the way he watches you like a hawk. You pause when you get right under him, a shiver running deep through your bones as you watch him continue to please himself no more than a few inches away.
A part of you wants to ravish him- take his cock in your mouth and suck him dry- but doing that means stopping the game, and youâve only just started having fun. No⌠itâs much too soon for that.
Instead, you opt for leaning into him and pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses along his upper thighs, the sound of his rumbling groans like music to your ears. You dig your nails into his hips to balance yourself, the ache of your knees on the hardwood floor nothing more than background, and a problem for a later time. His free hand goes to push your hair out of the way, while the busier one squeezes his length even harder. He doesnât stop, and neither do you.
Your boyfriendâs gasps of âOh, Godâ and âfuck, babyâ only encourage you to continue.
You place another countless kiss to his leg, ever so sweetly nipping at the toned flesh and licking at the hickey you know is forming. Your heart skips a beat as his panting moans shamelessly fill up the room. His cock twitches desperately above you, and a shiver runs down his spine when he realizes you noticed. Itâs all so much⌠and yet, not enough.
You catch his eyes regarding you feverishly, and something hungrier stirs within you. With a look so dirty his legs nearly give out, you lean up and swipe your tongue along the crevice of his aching balls. His vision almost goes black and he chokes on his words. He hates how pathetic the resulting plea sounds from his mouth.
âFuck! Shit, baby-,â he starts, and then he feels you take one into your mouth and suck, and itâs by the grace of God that he doesnât spill himself onto the floor then and there.
If he wasnât so dizzy with pleasure, heâd be dead with embarrassment at the sounds that were escaping him right now. His face is absolutely flushed, and the redness is not all from the physical act he was so shamelessly still performing for you. You see his eyes break contact for a fraction of a moment, and you squint, unhappy. Tonight, you were having none of that. You pull back and look at the man above you with a gaze so piercing it could kill him all over again.
âLook at me.â
Jason meets your eyes immediately. His pace stutters, but doesnât stop.
âLook at me while you pleasure yourself,â you murmur, and your voice sounds almost like a purr. âDonât look away, not for a moment. Look at me, and tell me how it good it feels.â
Jason can only exhale and nod in response. His cock throbs harder, and you both donât miss the white droplet that leaks out. He had promised that tonight was about bringing your fantasies to life, and while he was hesitant to admit it out loud, Jason was enjoying this way more than he thought he would.
Besides, like hell heâd ever say no to his girl.
âYes maâam,â he says, and then heâs picking up the pace again, eyes boring into yours.
đŐ Ü¸.ËŹ.ܸŐ𦯠ââââ shower time .á
in which dick hates being left out of shower time!
( dick grayson x fem!reader | fluff | can be tied with this! )
richard grayson was a clinger, you already knew that, you loved that, but sometimes you just needed a moment to yourself and the shower should be that momentâexcept it never was. heâll pout when you announce that youâll be in the shower, alone, heâll complain that youâll take forever and leave him bored or heâll go on a rant about how it saved water if the both of you shower together but you paid him no mind. instead you grabbed your stuff and left.
surprisingly he was good for the first ten minutes but quickly afterwards he found any and every excuse to weasel his way into the bathroom.
âsorry babe, gotta peeâ
âsorry sorry i forgot my phone!â
âhey what do you want for dinner? ill order it!â
âdid i leave my phone in here again?â
you wanted to be annoyed, you wanted to lock the door after the second time he barged inside with some insane excuse but ultimately you couldnât bring yourself to do so.
he rushed in again, cheesy smile on his face as he stood there for a moment, watching as you washed your hair, admiring how the bubbles covered parts of your body.
âwhat is it now?â you sighed out, eyes closed tightly to avoid the shampoo from entering.
âjust wanted to say that i love you and youâve been in here for like an hour and im bored and i miss you andââ
âjust get in the shower alreadyâ you said, a small smile creeping up on your face as you heard the door slam shut and his pants unzip.
âdonât gotta tell me twiceâ he muttered as he fought to rush out of the clothes that got in the way of you, him and a warm shower.
