Yes, I’m talking about the discourse around Caitlyn from Arcane lol.

It really annoys me when people say they want more complex characters in fiction but then go ballistic when those complex characters do bad things. And then these same people will adore and baby characters like Loki from Marvel. Dude killed TONS of people because he wanted to be a dictator.

My point here is, if you’re going to hate a character for being problematic, at least be fucking consistent.

But for real: Someone LIKING a fictional character is not condoning their actions or their takes on things. At the end of the day, these are fictional characters and believe it or not, liking a problematic character in fiction IS different than liking a problematic person in real life. Treating them like the same thing is like saying people who play first person shooter games want to kill people in real life.
