I wanted to question both the connection between me and the idea of death. My work tries to question how people can face death, and whether birth is a punishment. These issues have always been my focus since I was young. My father's suicide when I was 12 definitely affected my artistic expression. Facing death, and existential pain are the subjects that I am particularly interested in and working on.  I use all these people, animals and nature metaphorically to describe the terrible loneliness and helplessness of being thrown into this world. Actually, photography is a tool for me to escape from reality and perhaps mask my suicidal thoughts. As Camus famously said, should I kill myself or have a cup of coffee. I substituted photography for coffee.
