“OPHELIA: …Down with the happiness of submission. Long live hate and contempt, rebellion and death. When she walks through your bedroom carrying butcher knives you’ll know the truth. (The men exit. OPHELIA remains on stage, motionless in her white wrappings.)”
— Heiner Müller; “Hamletmachine”
ladies, it’s time for us to be gorgons and embrace our anger
Women identify with monsters because they are driven to feel as though they are not human
I will forever be drawn to the Goddesses and women throughout history/mythology who have been demonized for doing nothing more than protecting themselves and defending themselves.
History has a way of repeating itself. Don’t let them suppress your power.
ladies, its time to stop “weaponizing” our looks and start wearing actual weapons. forget winging your eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man and invest in some steel toe boots.

The fact that wlw have claimed medusa is the ultimate power move. we stan our snake-haired gf who subverts the male gaze by turning them to stone 👏👏
Medusa
Protector of all women who was violated or harassed, her name is the meaning of protection.
On the ancient Greek the doors which had a medusa head on was a safe place for all women.
Medusa is seen as a bad character, a monster, only because all her head is full of snakes. She transforms people into statues just by looking into her eyes, I don’t know if this is a curse or a blessing, depends from who you read this myth, but I think we should all appreciate this character and her myth.
The Female gaze fights back.
