- picks you up from class in his very shitty and very beat up car that has stickers from his friends’ bands that he tried scraping off but eventually just accepted defeat on

- is always either an hour early or half an hour late to picking you up, absolutely no in between

- if he had a late band practice the night before, he’s speeding past stop signs in the outfit he slept in and patting down his hair in his rearview, pretends he doesn’t see you glaring at him from across the campus

- if he gets there earlier, which is usually what happens because he has nothing better to do, he’s leaned up against the hood of his car, chain smoking and muttering to himself to pretend like everyone’s stares into him aren’t completely making his chest feel like it’s caving in from how out of place he feels

- watches the guys in your class like a hawk when he sees them make small talk to you, even if they just walk out of class by your side, he grows to just deal with it by the end of your semester when you have like a week left

- grabs your bag from you as soon as you’re in his space and carries your bag if you guys have to run errands or anything after he picks you up, refuses to let you leave it in his car and says your shit’s gonna get stolen if you leave it there
