Ok, a little back story: i watched the Fosters til s3 and i loved it! One of my favorites shows and i was a hardcore brallie shipper, but then Netflix removed it and i had nowhere to watch it :( and i really really wanna know what happened with my ship.

I mean, the last time i checked a loooot of ppl shipped them but now seems like they don't, yeah, he may have married someone else, but i wanna know the reason why they're not "couple worthy" anymore.

No worries, I’m flattered that you would ask. First off don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad about who you ship. I always say as long as you show respect to others in your shipping...do you. It’s always going to feel a little lonely when others don’t ship the same as you, but that shouldn’t make you change your mind. Shipping is all about passion and exalting that passion into two people or more with some shows, that you just fall head over heals for. Take a look at my ships page and you will see more than none I have routed for the less popular couple, but it didn’t deter me. There are always going to be haters and sadly on this platform people love to stir things up and create toxicity in the fandoms over fictional couples, but how we respond and how we let it effect us is always in our hands. If you ever feel guilty about shipping someone, just remember Shipping Isn’t A Choice...it’s dictated by that feeling you get when you see the spark between two people. I learned a valuable lesson from steering my Brallie ship for so many years and even when the haters where right and that ship sunk below the deep deep sea, it still didn’t change my mind. I realized through some very big ups and downs and having many stones thrown at my taste that I’m not going to let other people’s opinions or the peer pressure of comformity dictate what’s pleasing to my eyes and to my heart. I hope this bit of advice brings you comfort and know that I’m always here to listen.

A few months ago I posted a ramble about Jane Austen’s description of Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice. Got a handful of pugnacious notes reminding me not to forget that Darcy is rich and exploitative. Apparently Darcy’s fatal flaw as a romantic lead is that he failed to invent socialism. *whips out retractable pointer* There’s a great question lurking behind these grumbles! What purpose does Darcy serve in Austen’s canon outside of “giving her deserving heroine a fairy-tale ending”? Because he’s not just a fantasy of a romantic lead, kids. He’s social commentary.

Props to everyone in my Brallie Fam that didn’t jump ship when things didn’t go as it clearly should have. You’re the real rockstars and have true dignity & grace. I still don’t think I can watch the new show because they are clearly trying to lure us back in. Honestly though I just can’t watch Brandon and Callie sit across from a dinner table when they still clearly want to be together. It’s always going to come down to the fact that these two so called siblings are always going to want more and probably want to rip each other clothes off everytime their eyes meet…period.

The debate has been ongoing in the European Parliament for months. If approved next week, these new regulations would require us to automatically filter and block content that you upload without meaningful consideration of your right to free expression. 

We respect the copyrights and trademarks of others, and we take all reports seriously to ensure that your creative expression is protected. We make this clear in our Community Guidelines. There’s already a legal framework that works and is fair: Today we take down posts and media that contain allegedly infringing content when we receive a valid DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown request. We also provide clear-cut ways for people to fight back if they believe their removed content was not a true violation. These instances are monitored and reported and live in our biannual transparency report. 

The suggestion to use automated filters for issues of copyright is short-sighted at best and harmful at worst. Automated filters are unable to determine whether a use should be considered “fair use” under the law and are unable to determine whether a use is authorized by a license agreement. They are unable to distinguish legitimate parody, satire, or even your own personal pictures that could be matched with similar photographs that have been protected by someone else. We don’t believe that technology should replace human judgment. Tumblr is and always has been a place for creative expression, and these new regulations would only make it harder for you to express yourself with the freedom and clarity you do so now. 

If Article 13 is approved, European People might be basically banned from uploading any fan content. 

You won’t get new fanfics from people in Europe.

You won’t get new gifs from people in Europe.

You won’t get new fanart from people in Europe.

Because they’ll be automatically filtered and blocked!

We might leave Tumblr and other fandom pages.

And if we’re getting all our content blocked? 

You might lose some of your favourite followers/mutuals.

You might not get to read the rest of that fic you’re dying to read - simply because the writer lives in the wrong country.

So do whatever you can to help us stop this.
