I can't remember who I first saw making this, but I owe you one, whoever you are. My niece is going to LOVE it!
I am NOT a Perfect Witch
Iβve seen a few asks/comments running around about how the witches of Tumblr seem to have all their ducks in a row and do magic spells 24/7 and are generallyΒ βperfectβ because of it. I can tell you this is probably not the case. At least for me its not. I am not a Perfect Witch. I donβt rigorously follow the phases of the moon, most of the time i forget anyways. I donβt do spells on a regular basis (at least not what i consider to be spells) Heck most of the time the most witchy things i do is reblog stuff to this tumblr.Β So for newbie witches and hidden witches please understand: Itβs completely okay to not be a βperfectβ witch. Once youβve discovered that youβre a witch you donβt have to cast spells 24/7 in order to protect your title. The Title of Witch is yours as soon as you decide you want to Claim It. No one can or should tell you how to run your path. That is something you will have to discover for yourself, and honestly thatβs the best part of the journey. So you forgot a sabbat, big whoop. Sabbats come and go and i rarely do anything for them anyways (maybe halloween but thats tradition haha) Another full moon pass you by? Thatβs okay, some people donβt like working with the moon and thatβs also okay. Try casting a spell and you donβt think it worked? Trust me i still do spells and most of the time they donβt work too. So to all the newbies and hidden witches: Do not fret. You have plenty of time to come into your path and please please please do not feel like you HAVE to be perfect in your path. I am proud to follow my path with all its bumps and turns it throws at me
I have been a witch for over 25 years, and I remain a hot mess.
I've been a Celtic hedge witch for 30+ years and I am still an absolute chaos gremlin.
My Brachypelma boehmei got a new onesie for the summer π
I think this young magpie might have dropped his SatNav! Don't worry; he found his way out safely and flew off - hopefully not into another living room!

"Touched by the Cailleach". A friend of mine processes dead animals that she finds; she's a midwife and so it seems appropriate that she also brings dignity and beauty to the dead that humans cast so callously aside. I have several of her pieces now (roe buck; badger; hare) and I knew that a corvid would also be fitting for my Cailleach altar. We have no idea why it turned this spectacular colour, and neither does anyone else she's spoken to in her work, but it's beautiful and it genuinely feels to me as though the Winter Hag has marked it as her own π
I genuinely didn't mean to start a mugwort farm, but that appears to have been my destiny anyway! Today, Alice needed a haircut - and I might need another mason jar! But there was also my gorgeous crimson glory rose, sitting in a cloud of valerian.
First mugwort harvest of the year is in, and my husband encountered this beautiful Steatoda nobilis while taking up the carpet for the work in the living room to begin. He was lucky to get this photo before she scuttled away to safety.

Five healthy little great tits have now found their wings and left the nest! They are now hiding in one of my many "thug" plants - so they're perfectly safe from harm.
Honesty, the parents are the most organized I have ever witnessed, and I'm so grateful to have been able to watch new and beautiful wildlife hatch, grow, and thrive! ππ
In my garden bird box right now are six great tits who are almost ready to fledge. One is slightly ahead of the others and is a bit of a troublemaker. I've named him Gary.
This is why I always burn dressed candles in a cauldron! Hoping you all had a wonderful Calan Mai π₯β€οΈ
As much as I love the colder months, I feel the cold. Always have done - but believe you me it gets worse after menopause! So my husband bought me a nice, warm, blanket to help me out a bit (no, a fleece hoodie and central heating aren't enough to help me, unfortunately). It's an early birthday gift, and he's given me my favourite beast from my favourite movie of all time. Ludo snuggly!

Been busy this week bagging up home-grown, unprocessed, organic dried mugwort for tea, and my first batch of mugwort antiseptic with an improved formula for maximum oil extraction is also complete! Now to repot greenhouse plants that are too small to go out this year, and I'm just about ready for autumn ππ
You donβt have to have fancy crystals and herbs for spell jars btw. You can use sugar, coffee grounds, leaves, acorns, etc. Donβt fall victim to witchcraft consumerism.
I rarely use crystals and only use traditional herbs (I'm half-Welsh and was set on my traditional, Celtic, wortcunner path decades ago by my beloved Nan - who still knew the "old ways" from her mother and grandmother and who was also a greenwitch/wortcunner). Crystals look pretty but they're extraneous to intent, really. And your intent is the important part. Sure, treat yourself to pretty candles (preferably beeswax; we're supposed to look after this planet, not help to destroy it) but crystals? Take 'em or leave 'em. You don't require them.
