Hi there!! I'm Golden and this blog is meant as a place for me to just enjoy the community far away from my main blog. I'm new to the community and honestly find myself still really shy.

It would be good of me to mention that I want to explore agere using my blorbos, because it's something I only just truly came to grips with in happening to me. It's a bit of projection on being newly aware which might not be everyone's cup of tea.

It's never actually easy when Grace is over-tired, though. Sometimes his brain just won't stop going, and other times he's been awake so long he just can't sleep. The frustration often resulting in tantrums and so much crying.

Bedtime stories, or just calmly and quietly talking at him, works wonders. The advantage for Rocky here is twofold: Eridian as a language (soothing soft melodies and tunes for bedtime), and the bedtime stories Rocky is able to tell.

I got two new bedsheets today and I'm so happy!

The sprinkles and ice cream will go on first. I was stimming so much when I got a proper look at the sprinkle side 🎉

Rocky notices Grace is itching to keep busy in a meaningful way, he clearly wants to learn! The laptop is full of puzzles, projects, and educational games for all ages which are easy enough to prepare in most cases.

But what if Rocky takes this time to teach his wonderfully curious friend about Eridian culture instead?

So here's Rocky, crafting puzzles that pebbles use for their development. Ranging from puzzles for hatchlings to puzzles for pebbles that'd be slightly older than Grace in human years.

Grace is thrilled! The puzzles are meant to challenge different senses and make him think creatively if he wants to solve them. It keeps him busy for days!

Every day I get to be a bit little when I go to bed. My bed with party streamers on the headboard. Under the covers with cartoonish prints that make me happy, in a big bed that makes me feel smaller, surrounded by plushies that make me happy, and cuddling my care bear close.

His tells are getting mouthier with Rocky, losing his patience at little things, and physically showing displeasure i.e. stomping his foot at something (or at himself) in helpless frustration, wringing his hands a lot, biting at or nibbling on the tip of this thumb to soothe himself. (And when the stress is too much, he'll suck his thumb.) Things like that. Don't even get me started on how difficult it becomes to hold his big emotions.

One thing they find that always always always soothes Grace and allows him to drop when he's teetering on the edge of regression is draping his lucky symbols quilt over him. The combination of sentimental value and weight make him feel comfortable and safe.

Another thing I think about a lot is Rocky giving Grace time-outs when he's teetering. Not as punishment or correction, but to create a safe space with as little distractions around as possible. Grace fusses at this every time, no matter if he's big or little. It's proven effective to calm him down enough to then go either way. He drops more often than not and quietly starts to ask for Rocky, pulling his blanket tightly around himself.

He needs a lot of verbal and physical reassurance after time-out, and wants to be as close to Rocky as is physically possible. He's a clingy kid the majority of the time anyway, but also has his moments of "I'm a big kid! I can do this by myself!"

Rocky can easily keep an eye on him no matter where Grace goes, so he's given the space to be a big kid when that mood strikes. Mary's also been roped in to help Rocky supervise and keep some appliances as well as areas locked down for safety, since the tunnels and the ball can't reach every spot in the ship.
