i mourn markamber every day
I hate when people say “Healthy=Boring” to defend mark and eve. no. comfortable=boring. Mark and Eve have no chemistry because they are comfortable with each other. they were made for each other in the sense that Eve is the main girl and mark is the main guy. So obviously they must be together out of convenience. But they weren’t made for each other in the way where they completely each other. To me it feels like they are just trauma bonded.
A relationship that diminishes a woman and reduce her to absolutely nothing is never healthy. I grew up in a place where you always hear people's experiences and every woman who has nothing going on for herself not even a hobby is always just so miserable.
I know fiction isn't real life but the comments and adoration on Mark and Eve are from real people who genuinely see woman as accessories and nothing more. Like ask them why they actually like the ship and you'll be surprised at their responses.
Sometimes I think about what career Mark would like to pursue if he never got his powers. And honestly I can't think of a single thing, maybe it's because he was simply invested in all this hero bullshit all his life too much and got striped away from any form of normalcy at 17 y o
But maybe it's because Kirkman never really showed us much of a person Mark is outside of him being invincible.
Like what do we know about dis kid??? His favourite comic? That's kinda all honesty
I haven’t posted in ages omggggg mostly Amber dump

I feel like im the only one who thinks this, but i always hated the plotpoint that the viltrumites join human society and then immediately become Good because they get a gf or wife. they all speedrun romantic relationships, somehow have healthy ones despite being raised with no emotional intelligence at all, and besides what anissa does, are supposed to be seen as reformed... bc they got a gf.
it reminds me how cishet and misogynistic invincible is. the logic that a woman will fix them, instead of them just getting toxic relationships or whatever. and even if they all did become normal (happy and well adjusted people), its annoying they all just get heteronormative relationships and thats what makes them like earth. god forbid one of them gets a hobby, has an actual pet, likes a job, makes friends, is a student or teacher, or anything thats not just finding a wife 🙄
Women are just assets in invincible nothing more
Mark and Eve are SO boring man. So so boring. Individually they are amazing, but together, these two are so underwhelming. I try to enjoy it but, all they do is fuck and go on the roof. No sustenance. Mark has more chemistry with Thragg, William, Cecil, Rex, Amber almost anyone who's NOT Eve.
Eve is INCREDIBLE. The show really did something with her that the comics failed and I was hoping for more independency (nice learning she was in school for the last 10 months Mark was away. Hopefully she made friends) but I just can't enjoy a woman character knowing that they're just there for sex and to be a therapist. It's fucking depressing. Someone write an alt universe where they're best friends who constantly get their ass kicked but win every battle at the end.
I don't care what anyone says, and I don't care if it's not endgame, Mark x Amber is adorable!
Zuko’s new design has him wearing a little green gem accessory
You know who else is green?
JIN
This is indisputable proof that he marries her and that Jinko is endgame.
[ COMIC SPOILER WARNING ]
(CERTAIN) INVINCIBLE FANS: SHOW! AMBER was annoying for bitching at Mark for leaving her even though she KNEW he was a super hero!
MEANWHILE, INVINCIBLE COMICS! EVE, who literally does the same thing later in the comics, even though she was ALSO a "superhero"...
😑
And somehow those fans barely bat an eye at that.
Oh well all know why. We all do. I've seen people defend Eve's dad so this is nothing

Someone should shot invincible character designers cause god-damn their outfits always look like shit
Getting back into reading the Invincible comics and seeing how Amber and Mark's relationship went... They're cute so far! Amber was a bit clueless, but she's sweet and adorable (omg the drug user theory she had on Mark was kinda funny 💀 and wild lol).
Imo? I don't understand how people think she has a lack of personality? Comic! Amber was soft, sweet, considerate, a bit playful, with a mild temper—but it comes from a place of concern, y'know?
Now I already know Eve's reaction to them dating is much different than in the show—but going into it... Oh boy. Comics! Eve was a bit annoyed and judgy, especially to William and Amber when they barely did much than talk to either Mark or about what happened in the day. Like... what is her problem??
I mean, maybe it's a sign of jealousy, but still..?
Also—
Maybe I'm overthinking it... but that scene in Africa with Mark and Eve when they talk about Amber..? Why does that feel like emotional manipulation?? "Normal people don't understand superheroes"? "Normal people don't look up"?
I know Eve was comparing Mark's experience with Amber to how hers was with William—but those situations were NOT the same, in my opinion.
Cause at least Mark is trying with Amber.
Eve gave up on William almost immediately.
Imo I also didn't really see any romantic feelings between Mark and Eve?? It just feels similar in the show where everyone else talks about them being "boyfriend and girlfriend" or supposedly thinking that they have feelings for each other while they've barely even established a mutual connection. Also, where did Eve's feelings for Mark even come from?? Cause I also noticed that in school they've barely interacted either. And Mark didn't really have feelings for Eve and even says that they're friends.
(but that's what I'm reading so far so bare with me- I also apologize if my feelings sound like they're all over the place lol)
I am not a fan of comic Eve at all. When the show first aired , I immediately went to read the comics before the second episode and boy did I hate comic Eve. She hated Amber so bad, called her a dumb blond, cheated with Mark, dated William just to get with Mark and the worst of all was how she babies Mark and excused him causing the death of one million people as just a mistake.
When I saw the difference with show Eve I just prayed she stayed different and not get with Mark at all, cause her relationship with Mark was one of the worst things in the comic for me and that's why I'm so anti Markeve not just because of Amber but because those with brains can clearly see even in the comics the ship makes Eve one of the most selfish but glazed character in fiction.
Take the ending for example, she supported Mark when he forced the Viltrumites families (humans) off the planet because of their superpowered kids. She allowed Mark have Immortal as a dictator on his behalf even though they were warned by those time travellers.
And I get them having feelings for each other in the comics but in the show hell no. Mark was attracted to Eve at first but didn't even think twice when he found out she was dating Rex. Then he ACTIVELY PURSUED Amber, we all saw the gifts and the begging so the writers making him say he never really loved Amber is just BS at it's finest.
Comic Amber never made a huge fuss about Mark’s secret identity and she was white. Those are the only major differences with show Amber. It is WORSE in the comics since Amber never lashed out as much to Mark and the fandom hated her back in the day for getting in the way of Eve before Mark and Eve got together. Imagine comic Amber was the black one , the outrage would have been huge about being hated over Eve, and if she was race swapped for the show, yet she is white so crickets. The fandom hypocrisy shines from the reactions to show Amber - same story, almost the same character, different skin color, different fandom reactions .
You guys to read to comprehend and it's amazing you probably passed school. Comic Amber asked Mark TWICE about his lies TWICE and immediately she asked the second time Mark told her his secret identity, himself without there being an situation around it, he didn't reveal his identity to her to get excuse his behavior.
Now in the show it's a different thing completely, the amount of times his lies were brought up by Amber were, especially because their relationship was depicted as more serious than in the comic, with him getting to meet her mom. So not only was he cancelling dates HE arranged but he revealed his identity to shut her up.
There's absolutely no way you can expect the same reaction from both scenarios
People hated comic Amber and nobody brought it up as much as show fans. Strange how the only difference between thinking Amber is treated like shit by fans and show runners is that now she is black. When she was white nobody was as vocal. Funny how people’s perception of exactly the same person changes when you change their skin color
I don't know what side of the fandom you're on when constantly people say comic Amber is better than show Amber. And yes I'm aware people didn't like comic Amber at first but you definitely can't even compare the hate she got to the hate Show Amber gets.
I condo any hate to comic Amber but don't fein ignorance racism towards Show Amber
the men watching invinicible keep saying this, that amber is basically evil, and that debbie should get back w nolan, and i think that sums up the fandom

Here's my hot take: Anybody who hates Amber... Probably has something to hide too (which I think would kinda explain much? Considering the fans atrocious behavior towards her? Jeez- they'll all be so defensive about Amber getting mad at Mark and keeping a secret that she knew he was a hero but don't get as mad when Eve hides her pregnancy—which are two complete things, I know, but still-).
It's funny how after deep conversations they can't even hide either their racist intentions or misogyny.
Hi! 👋 Hope this isn't too old to ask but—
About Markeve. I recalled you mentioning that Eve and Mark are "a bad match character wise" and I'm curious—why do you think so?
Hopefully this doesn’t sound judgemental or anything- I got genuinely curious and- well- bah, you don't have to answer if you want (lol)- sorry!
Hope you have a good day though! 🫶
You’re good 😊 love to yap about all things!
The reason I think Mark and Eve are a bad match character wise comes down to how Eve’s character is neutered (spayed?) to being complacent with Mark pretty much stopping all character development till the end of the season.
Season 3, for Mark, is a darkest moment part of the story. He’s losing allies, friends, and family. He finds out Cecil is willing to kill him and has set up contingency plans to deal with him. His friendship with the guardians is broken and leads to the guardians breaking up. He has stress put on his relationship with Oliver and Debbie. So in this whole season of Mark struggling and failing, his relationship with Eve feels out of place.
Their relationship is pretty neutral, the only conflict being future Eve telling Mark she always loved him and then slowing down their relationship’s pace. I think the show was going for Mark and Eve becoming co-dependent on eachother and pushing everyone out but it fails to give Eve her arc in this relationship. The audience knows her relationship with her family is bad so when she moves out, it’s not a sign of her becoming more dependent on Mark but more her putting distance between her and their toxicity.
In contrast to this, we have the two season relationship with Amber where we see how she deals with first Mark being a bad boyfriend and then having a super hero boyfriend. Her character arc of struggling with what it means to be with Mark is very interesting and creates a dynamic story. It all gets weaved together with Mark learning to be a hero and then learning to be a hero again after his dad turns out evil.
So my issue with Mark and Eve is that Eve doesn’t get to have a character anymore. This is mostly a hold over from the comics where her entire character is focused around wanting Mark and wanting to keep him. Her show counterpart doesn’t have anything added into that and it’s very jarring to have her go from a complex character struggling with her relationship with her family, balancing her hero life and civilian life, and learning what heroism means for her to turn to Mark’s therapist who doesn’t have any inner life.
I do like their relationship in season 1 & 2 where they have character conflict and chemistry. If the show had committed to improving on the comic for their relationship, I think they could have been a really good couple that is fun to watch. Eve could struggle with feeling like she’s the only one keeping Mark afloat and how that really breaks a person down.
I hope that answers your question, they’re good friends but once they date, Eve gets switched out for comic version and it’s not good.
I hate when fans say the reason Eve is bland is because the writes were afraid of backlash because of Amber. Like absolutely no. Show Eve in season 1 was actually the different one. Now she's just like in the comics
